You would think that in Africa, Muslims and Christians, though friendly to each other, would tend not to agree on anything, let alone take up mutual causes. The two religions have rules about “non-believers”.

#2

In Mighty, Gbowee shows us that, contrary to common beliefs, Muslims and Christians can come together for a cause and contribute to the greater good.

I've always believed that cartoons are better than news broadcasting. When I was a child, I used to think that the news was a waste of time. Although I should know better by now, I cannot help thinking that the news is still boring. At the same time that I believe the news is important, I also believe cartoons are still awesome.

A number of sociologists have recently suggested that the Republican Party is the reason that Obama isn’t taking action.
It has become common today to dismiss the importance of general education.
In their recent work, scientists have offered harsh critiques of the believers for doomsday!
In past cartooning, TV viewers have confirmed that sugar, spice, and everything nice make the Powerpuff Girls!!!
It is a common belief that Buttercup, from the Powerpuff Girls, is a brat.
Many adults are worried that the today’s youth relies too much on electronics.

Templates for Introducing Something Implied or Assumed (p.25)

Although none of them have ever said so directly, men have often given the impression that woman should be submissive and obey their husbands. One implication of men’s treatment of woman is that they are weak. Men apparently assume women are baby making machines. While they rarely admit as much, men often take for granted the important role that women have in a family.

They Say, I Say, Exc. 4 (p. 25)
One possible implication of Leymah Gbowee’s treatment of soldiers and rebels in her novel, Mighty be our Powers, is that she has little respect for “freedom fighters” or those on the battlefront.
Leymah apparently assumes that women are expected to be weak.
While they rarely admit as much, police officers often take for granted that the laws they enforce are just.

Exc. 5
In discussions of climate change, one controversial issue has been the use of petroleum products, namely, gasoline. On one hand, conservative lawmakers argue that there is no danger in burning petroleum, and that limiting the market for this product will hurt an already damaged economy. On the other hand, however, liberals contend that it is in fact deadly to the environment, and that regulation will be a small price to pay for the sake of the world. Others may maintain that we need to develop alternative energy sources to replace petroleum permanently, or that climate change does not exist. In my view, the evidence of global warming is factual, and I must believe it; alternative energy should be used to supplement our more dirty fuel sources.

The standard way of thinking about indigenous people has it that they are less "civilized". Their societies are not exposed to the technologies of the modern world and therefore are considered to be less intelligent or still living in "old times". Many people tend to ignore the fact that their civilizations, while not evolving like others, have proven success in simply surviving all these centuries. I acknowledge that one does not have to be up to date with certain technologies to be masters of ones environment. To master ones environment can be viewed as an accomplishment that requires a certain intelligence, it's all abbot perspective.

I’ve always believed that museums are boring. When I was a child, I used to think that going to the school was boring and useless. Although I should know better by now, I cannot help thinking that school is boring, takes up all of my time and I receive a lot of work. At the same time that I believe school will benefit me in the future, I also believe that without school I wouldn’t be educated.

#1- It is often said that the simple things in life are most precious. What small pleasures make you the happiest? Do all little things make EVERYONE specifically happy?
#2- In the memoir “Mighty be our Powers”, Leymah shows us that not every little thing makes people happy. She suffered a lot during her life. Sometimes little things like helping others would make her happy. But this would not necessarily apply to her all the time.

They Say/I Say (p 26-27)

When it comes to the topic of democratic principles around the world, the democracy is a slope of changes; most of us will readily agree that it impossible to have one idea of democracy. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of democracy can always change according to the group or state and how they see the democratic principles. Whereas some are convinced that democracy can also change according to the region, customs, norms and the surrounding environment of that place, other maintain that the essentials to create a platform for democratic choice are by implementing justice for all, human rights, freedom of speech and public corruptions. Templates for making what "They Say" something you say (pg.# 24 They Say/I Say)

I've always believed that shopping with women is boring. When I was a child, I used to think that going to the mall with my mother meant endless hours at bargain stores waiting for her to choose a single item. Although I should know better by now, I cannot help thinking that things haven't changed a single bit since childhood. At the same time that I believe my mom is a picky shopper, I also believe she never is dissatisfied with her choices.
