It has been four years since America have been in war with the Middle East, but is this war resolving anything? America is at war at this very instant because of a terrorist attack that occurred on September 11, 2001 at New York that cause our once famous twin towers to disappear. Although President Bush announced to the whole word that America is at war because of the terrorist attack, but is that really why we are at war, there are many controversies about this topic whether America is at war because of our safety as American citizens or are we at war because Bush wanted to get revenge on the Iraqi’s due to some oil business that involve his father several years ago.
In an article I found at http://bushwatch.com/oil.htm stated that we are at war for gas/oil. A man in the name of Paul Wolfowitz stated that the real motive that we are at war is that “Iraq is swimming in oil”. America use more than 50% of the worlds oil and if this keeps on going America will run out. Oil is precious in America and the terrorist lives on in a country that contains the most oil on earth. Being in a war with Iraq can be a good and a bad thing, fist of all America can get revenge for those who were lost on 9/11 and at the same time gain more oil for our daily use. What most people didn’t realize before war was that Bush and his father owns/run a oil company and had done business with the Iraqi’s back in the 1900’s. So are we in war for four years because of revenge or oil? Recently in Iraq a few of our troops were caught killing Iraqi’s when they were not suppose to. The Iraqi’s were told to run as fast as they can for freedom and while they are running American soldiers shot them. Al Qaeda is the group that the soldiers should aim for not Iraqi’s civilians.
It has been four years and we are still at war. There are still protestors protesting against the war, there are millions of Iraqi’s suffering, dying every minute, woman, men and child. We have lost thousands of American back in 2001, going to war with Iraq we are still loosing more American soldiers life, Americans has to pay more taxes, every year America is spending billions of dollars on war, we are making the Iraqi’s innocent civilians dying and suffering, little Iraqi children are being raise in an environment were they see people die each day, seeing people holding guns running around shooting people. America wants to be known and respected of our diversity and open mindedness is this how we show it. Four years into the war and we as Americans did not achieve anything, Al Qaeda has not been demolished, money has been lost, and we are fighting with other Middle Eastern countries. Gas and oil in America has gone up ever since the day we started the war, more taxes has been taken out from our paychecks, the cost of living in America has gone up, and all Bush is focused on is war. War is not the answer to America problems. Want all Americans want in life is peace. Not war.

The war that has been going on against terrorism in the middle east has impacted American society negatively. As every one of these four years have gone by more people are against the war. Citizens who once supported the war are now changing their minds as casualties surpass the number expected. Many countries did not support the United States going to fight terror in Iraq and the United Nations actually voted down the idea of the United States invading Iraq. The war in Iraq affected America negatively because we have been in Iraq for a long time and have not accomplished anything positive in this time.
The United States went into Iraq to prevent another attack on American soil from occuring after what happened on September 11th. The problem that has arisen with this explanation is that Iraq had nothing to do with this attack. The culprits behind that were members of al-qaeda. Not one of the assailants that flew the planes were from Iraq. The information that justified our invasion has now been found to be mostly false and based on many assumptions. That a nation like ours made these mistakes has given countries that were in the fence on hating us join the side that dislikes the U.S. The casualties in Iraq are skyrocketing for both sides, though Iraq has taken heavy losses. It is going to take them along time to recover from this war even if it ended today.
The reputation of the United States has been tarnished by this war in Iraq. Coutries in the middle east see us as a country that brings terrorism with them. Can anyone really point to Iraq as a terrorist country before our invasion? Though Sadam Hussein was there, the country was not in as bad a shape as it is now. To recover our reputation as a fair nation a new president has to step up. As long as Bush is president we will "stay the course" in a war that is only costing us lives and money.

With many lives of family and friends affected emotionally and physically, the war in Iraq has been a four year never-ending struggle. Even though there are many alternatives, our President chose to go to war after our nation was attacked. We went to war to stop terrorism in its track, but somehow the President got some intelligence that there are weapons of mass destruction. There are positive and negative points that evolved from the effects of the war. For one, we have gotten a chance to capture potential terrorists who are potentially dangerous and who helped Iraq become a better nation. In contrast, as a result of that, many lives of our fellow American soldiers has been taken. Although the war in Iraq has been a four year struggle, I am against it because people are dying daily.
Last week in class, Ms. Sabir told us a startling fact, “After four years in the war, the number of Iraqi people who died in the war is equivalent to the population of the people in the Bay Area.” I was shocked when I heard this fact because this is a great amount of people. We have been going to the war for four years and we still have not found any weapons of mass destruction.
You never know if it’s hidden hard somewhere but I doubt it. Iraq is a poor nation but it is steadily being rebuilt by Americans afterall we were the ones who’d destroyed it. Bottom line is that the war is costing a lot of money; instead we need to invest our money into bigger and better things in life; in my suggestion—better things such as schools, our environment and cure for various diseases those are just some suggestions.
I feel bad for the families who are also affected by the war. Personally I have a lot of friends and one family member who have been in the war. Thank God that they are all safe and they all came back home in one piece. There are, however, a lot of unfortunate individuals that didn’t quite make it; and there are also others who came home with missing limbs who has to live that way for the rest of their lives. Not to mention, again the ridiculously amount of Iraqi people we killed. I think that we should pack up our troops and just call it quits. We need peace in the world. Why would you go to another country and kill someone you don’t even know? How do you think the Iraqi people feel about strangers invading their country and trying to investigate on weapons of mass destruction? Are Americans really there for weapons of mass destruction and to fight for terrorism or are we there for the oil?
The war in Iraq has posed an enormous affect on our economy and on many families as well. We need to stop the war, thus stop killing more innocent people. Instead, we need to make peace and save our money and use it toward more important causes in life.

Four years ago, the Americans entered into war in Iraq. What has changed since the war? Nothing has changed since the war besides losing many lives of our fellow American soldiers, and yet Bush still wants to send more troops to Iraq. What for? Bush stated that “He wants the American to feel safe, so by sending more troops to Iraq, the troops can help catch all the terrorists and help gain control in Baghdad by eliminating all terrorist” (2007 State of Union Address). I don’t think we, the Americans, will ever feel safe again. We never know what’s going on behind the scenes. All we can do is to play by ear--see it and hear it on TV, hear it through others, or by reading about it in the newspaper or magazine. Every time there is a plane crash, our first instinct would always be that we have been again struck by terrorists. So if our troops were to help us feel safe, then why do we always come up with the assumption that our nation was being attacked again?
Instead of focusing on a war that is not going anywhere, why don’t we use this time to enhance or fix other issues that we are currently facing? We need to focus on issues that would benefit Americans, such as health insurance and schools, etc.
Some people think that the reason why Bush chose to go to war is because he wants to make American history. Some believed that it was solely for the oil purposes. Others supported Bush’s idea in find the weapons of mass destruction. So which assumption is true? From my perspective, I think that he chose to go to war over the oil purposes. Look, once again, our gas prices have increased to a ridiculously high price. I had a quarter tank of gas left yet it still cost me forty-two bucks to fill my tank! Notice that gas prices has been on the rise and falls; not only is it hurting our economy, but our pockets as well.
This war have has to stop, we need to stop further risking the innocent lives our fellow soldiers.

We’re at War with Who?!
The war on terror they call it. But who is terror? Or is should the question be what is terror? And where is this terror we are at war with? If terror is the people of Iraq, then we are right on target. After spending four years in a country, destroying buildings and peoples lives, have we found terror? I think we have, and all we had to do was look in the eye of the children that are now homeless, the reflections in the broken glass from all the bombs, or simply in the mirror at home.
In a speech given on Monday, March 19, President Bush asked the American people to be patient. The President said that we can win the war but “only if we have the courage and resolve to see it through” (Bush). The other option seems to be to leave and lose the war, but how do you win a war when 3,210 (Fletcher) American lives have already been lost in Iraq. Not to mention the “tens of thousands” (Fletcher) of Iraqis that have been killed and the $300 billion (Fletcher) that have been spent on this war.
President Bush says we need to finish the war so that we will be safe from future attacks by terror. But someone that is much closer to the fight has a different idea. The Vice-President of Iraq, Tareq al-Hashemi has a different idea. al-Hashemi wants “talks to be opened with the county’s insurgents in an attempt to bring peace” (BBC News). This becomes the best of both worlds. The troops do not leave until the war is over, and future terror kept at bay, yet they get out earlier and hopefully with less casualties for both the troops and the citizens.
Hopefully President Bush can find a way to look at the war through the eyes of someone else. If he could set aside his pride and see the damage his war has caused not only on the country of Iraq, but on the country he is supposed to protect and care for. If President Bush could take the time to just sit back and close his eyes, and imagine that he was an Iraqi or an Iranian or someone other than himself, maybe, just maybe we could win this war on this face-less enemy and move forward.

Cyber Essay
When being governed, the governed feel they should be consulted about issues that may harm them. When the United States decided to go to war with Iraq, our mission was steadfastly accepted by the citizens because our President made us believe that it was our only means of protection. We did not know that an ulterior motive was in motion and four year later we have found out that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and his sympathy and remorse for the lives lost, is slim to none. The war on terror has been a one man struggle as our President has grown content with blindfully destroying families, organizing coupes, and maltreating innocent people.
When politicians address issues to their citizens, propaganda is in high array. When we look back at the beginning of the “War on Iraq,” we should honestly be able to say that the President shot us somewhat of a good idea; and we bought it. As propaganda tends to take its toll, citizens did not actually analyze why and how the President wanted our country to fight another. The majority of citizens believed that our attack on Iraq was in retaliation to the brutal attack on New York, September 2001; hence, justifying terrorism. In December 2001 Usatoday report stating, "a majority of non-U.S. opinion leaders, including nearly half of influential’s in Islamic countries, say many or most people in their countries think the U.S. is doing the right thing in fighting terrorism" (http://uspolitics.about.com/b/a/207865.htm).”. These are the ways and statistics that helped the President lobby a minority of congress to join him in his attack. However, looking back, what we bought was thousands of American lives and 25,000 innocent Iraq lives (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3672298.stm).
I am an American citizen and I do not agree with the War on Terror. I believe in God and I do not think that the United States has the right to play God to other countries. At this point, I can not honestly say that Bush or any Presidents efforts, thus far, have added in the worldwide struggle for equality or justice in the world. Why should the US be excluded from atrocities? An African proverb says, “Make your bed as you wish to lye on it”; hence, setting an example for how others will treat you in return. As Americans we should urge our governments to fix the problems plaguing our country and then we can help others efficiently.

The war in Iraq started four years ago. Since then the lives of the people of Iraq have taken a big change. The capture of Sadam Hussein was supposed to give the people of Iraq a better life, but most Iraqis now say that their lives were better with Sadam Hussein. The percentage of Iraqis that claimed that life was going well has declined by almost half of what it was.
The war on Iraq has also gained the United States a lot of enemies and a bad image around the world. This is because President Bush claimed that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction that would be used against the United States, and this claim has been found to be false. The U.S. decided to invade Iraq anyway despite the fact that no weapons of mass destruction were found. This action caused other countries around the world to distrust the U.S.
The war has also claimed the lives of a lot of innocent people.
While talking to people who are from foreign countries, I found out that people around the world live in constant fear because they are afraid that the United States might bomb them. I was surprised to here this, but now it understand how they might feel. The war on Iraq might also encourage the countries that are known as the Axis of Evil to loose respect for the United States, because they have been fighting for four years and they still can’t win the war. So the Axis of Evil might be encouraged to attack the United States, because they might feel as if they have a chance to beat the Americans.
This is because the way that I see it. It is like a little guy who beats up the biggest bully on the block that everyone is afraid of. When that happens the rest of the people no longer fear the bully because they realize that he or she is not that tough after all.
A lot of online sources are coming in this business as they come here to earn not with the objective of serving the students who are in need.
