The presentation so far has been informative, I didn't understand why the English (or Americans?) were killing the buffalo. Hearing about "The last era celebration" was really shocking, how cruel someone could be towards a group different from you and basically strip you from your culture is unforgivable. I wonder if the U.S is paying the Native Americans for the damage that they've caused like they did for the Japanese. I also found it funny that they looked down on the Jewish migrants for selling bagels when now it's perfectly fine to have hotdog vendors, newspaper stands, etc.
It's sad how people are so obsessed with power that they won't let immigrants come up.

Each member of this group did a good job on delivery. They did not run into technical difficulties which helped create a smooth presentation. They were all prepared to present, and none of them seemed nervous at all. Their presentation was clear because they had a thesis, and used the chapter to prove it. Lastly, I was shocked when I heard about the last arrow event. That kind of assimilation is rude. I wonder if white people and native Americans ever befriended each other, besides the story of Pocahontas.

Our group(Team Destiny Cloudfist) did pretty well. Our presentations were right on point and showed many facts, as well were thoughtful in the sense that we not only shared information, but also shared our own point views. Patrick did a good job on being funny throughout his presentation and giving emphasis on important points that drove it home to the audience. I am not going to rate myself but I think I did ok on the part of making up for our group members that could not come, though I should have prepared a bit more instead of doing the parts then and there. Esbeyde also did a great job in the hat that she brought and also for telling us a story that about her counselor, adding more spice to the story that we have read. Our group went first and set the standard for the rest, and I feel that the precedent that we set was good.
Team Cloud Destiny
Patrick, Andres and Esbeyde wrapped their presentation well. I agree with Andres that his teammate’s introduction of a personal anecdote about her counselor added a nice grounding reality check to the historic presentation. It showed the relevance of the material and how something so long ago can still touch us now.
I thought Andres’s filling in twice, counting today for team absent members was great! His enthusiasm and resonance with the text—sharing favorite passages added to the overall success of the work.
The next group to present today: Jay, Lucia, and Maxx on "Contradictions" did a marvelous job in showing the contradictions in U.S. policy and action.
I liked how first Maxx defined the terms and then laid the groundwork for the balance of the section where in example after example government officials broke their own laws and contradicted themselves repeatedly.
The use of repetition was great stylistically and the art used to illustrate each section was both aesthetically pleasing and powerful.
Jay's portion of the presentation was completed in record time, yet covered succinctly, all if not most of the important points.

It was pretty interesting to hear their presentation considering I'm doing the same subject, but it was pretty awesome to hear about some of the stuff I missed in my presentation, so it was as informative as it can get. Also I liked the sombrero. However there was in fact a couple of key information missing about the Mexican immigration that wasn't stated, (or was stated and that I wasn't paying attention) but I shall cover during my presentation of "El Norte"

Response to Jay, Lucia, and Maxx's Presentation on Contradictions.
They had a very nice power point presentation set up for the class. Despite the delivery, they mastered their section. The presentation was a little long and it forced Jay to talk fast. However, I learned a little more about the "City Upon a Hill" concept.

Self Response
I feel like I did alright. I may have run a bit long but my presentation was enthusiastic enough. I'm fairly certain I was informative, though at times possibly not specific enough, but overall I think I did alright. In the future I would probably try to get my group to do their sections or possibly just work on my own.

The way this group did their presentation was amazing. Patrick did a fantastic job talking about what the British colonies did to the Native Indians. It was horrible to see what human beings can do to each other. Andres also did a great job to tell us about how the Jewish were beat or killed in Russia, and when they came to America they had a hard time to mix in. Andres also did the work for his partner who was absent.Esbeyde finish it with a story about her Consoler.

Refection
I'm not usually frustrated, but the first thing I want to say is that I'm very proud of our team. Despite the nervousness, I think we did a very good job in our delivery. In addition to our success in this project was our preparation, because we were able to make time for literature circles as we were reading our section. Also our chapter notes from the literature circles resulted in the best outline in the class. Next, our whole group agreed that a power point was not a good idea at all, and we are glad that we stuck by that decision, because there was a lot of time wasted by the other groups. Wanda Sabir clearly said 15 minutes per presentation, but that didn't happen with our group or the groups before us. The nervousness of public speaking and the outside input prolonged our our presentation. I'd say the next time there is a presentation the time limit should not be ignored but respected by every one else in the class as well as our group because I have to admit that I was very upset with the timing in general.

response to team Destiny Cloud Fist
I thought this team did an excellent job covering the material in their section in a cohesive and articulate manner. I was most impressed with the ease and fluidity with which each member spoke. They had a lot to talk about and did not rely heavily on scripts; yet each presenter had an affable, engaging delivery. Learning about the last arrow ceremony and the utter disregard for the culture of the natives was interesting but saddening.
response to team The Power of Four
This group was also very enjoyable and put on a great presentation aside from the technical difficulties on the first day. Giving an overview allowed them to easily tie their information into Takaki's themes. They also did an excellent job covering for an absent member. The powerpoint was used well also.
response to third team (if they had a name, i missed it)
AS the first team to not use powerpoint this group did quite well. since they are presenting the same section as my group, i can confidently say that covered all that needed to be covered. there wasn't really anything i learned from this presentation because of this though. the closing song was unique and appropriate but i would have liked to hear more. oh well, it seems time is always an issue.

Response to The Power of 4's Presentation
This group gave a very solid presentation. Their PowerPoint was very well-organized and contained a lot of important information. The members showed that they really knew their material. The images on each slide were especially captivating.
I didn't like that the last speaker had to rush through his section because they were running out of time. It would have been great to receive an equal report on each section.

Response to the 3rd Presentation (Transformations)
This presentation was very informative and packed with a lot of details, especially the opening intro into this last section of the book. I liked their creativity in incorporating a song into their presentation.
I wished they had used more props to assist in their presentation, because I felt that the audience was somewhat losing interest from such a lengthy talk.

Response to Jay,Lucia, and Maxx's Presentation on Contradictions.
First I would like to say I was very pleased with the group. I thought they presented the material efficiently while keeping the information interesting and on topic which can always be appreciated. I found it very helpful and clever that the key terms were defined in the begging so that everyone had the same definition and understood the context in which the words were being used. The group was very organized and was able to deal with the challenges that interfered with their presentation such as time and a missing group member in a professional manner.
Reflection
I believe that me and my group did a good job presenting the information. Although the groups that went before us both used a power point i feel that my group did just fine with out one. Our outline was clear and informative just as much as our presentation. I feel that our section was interesting and we were able to convey this through our presentation.

Response to Team Destiny Cloudfist's Presentation
The group did a very good job, you can tell how prepared they were and how they really understood what they read. They also worked as a group, they knew each other's topics so they easily covered up the section of the missing group mate. The information about Indians, Mexicans, African Americans were very well said, interesting. The props especially the sombrero was very cool, it caught people's attention. I liked it.

Response to team The Power of Four
I think they did pretty good too, they didnt have alot of time, but they still finished, and it looked like they covered up the section just like how they planned it. Its good how they defined the terms right away, even before they started, so people had the idea of what they were about to talk about.

Response to 3rd presentation (Transformations)
Its good how they used a song to make their topic interesting, and they didnt forget to explain the relationship between the song and the text. Some of them looked pretty nervous at first, its natural, but i guess smiling will help alot, feel comfortable of what you are doing, as long as you know what you are gonna talk about. All in all, they did good, having introduction and conclusion, so the audience know how the presenters feel about their topic in general.

Response to The Power of Four Presentation
Their presentantion was good, I think some of their group members weren't well informed on their section though and even though they didn't have 40+ mins to present like the last group, I got what the chapter was about and they didn't look uncomfortable or nervous.

Reflection On My Groups Presentation
Overall I think we did alright. We were all nervous and it affected the flow and cohesiveness of the presentation but I still believe we got our points across. Also our plan of having separate outlines did not work out because we ended up presenting sooner than some members of our group predicted. Having a single outline for all chapters would have fixed this. Other than a few minor slip-ups, I still think we did a good job and I am proud of myself and the other group members for what we did today.

Response to 4onit's presentation
This presentation was very detailed and thorough. Each speaker was very succinct and cleanly delivered his/her portion of the group's presentation.
The first speaker presented a lot of information, so it made me question the work distribution a bit. But each member that followed also provided the audience with in depth information on their parts.
Response to Unity's presentation
This presentation was very concise and to the point. The group had limited time so each member crisply wrapped up the core ideas of their section and moved on with efficiency.
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to hear the last speaker, but the whole presentation appeared to be very short and sweet.

Reflection
I think my presentation wasn't as polished as it could have been. In my nervousness, I completely forgot to display a few pictures that I had hoped would have made my presentation more cohesive. I also faltered a lot during the second half of my presentation because I had no props/pictures to strengthen my verbal discourse.
Overall, I have to admit that this was a learning experience, to present so much information as succinctly and as inclusive as possible. While preparing for this presentation, I already cut down the amount of material to a minimum, but it was still overwhelming to think about getting a great deal of information across to the audience.

Response to the presentation on unity(contradictions)
I think we did great on our presentations because with so little time we were able to cover the whole part of our presentation.Although I was a little nervous because i don’t like presenting infront of a whole class but some how I made it through. But overall it was a great experience for all of us as students to better learn in class.
