Although Paty Ruiz Corso’s program Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve deals with people not taking care of the environment, not enough trees and throwing trash into the river, she is working hard to change the all that and give poor people jobs and pay them to plant trees and create their homeland into a forests, because the now the forest is worth $1.1 billion.

Although Feliciano De Los Santos and his organization, Estamos, are faced with the fact that 1 in 6 people living in Niassa suffer from HIV, and there is a lack of clean water and sanitation issues, he is making a difference because he uses his music to teach the people about the importance of good hygiene.
India: Design Like You Give A Damn
Although Purnima McCutcheon had to deal with rebuilding a place that would hold a school and meeting facilities for the community after the 2004 tsunami that destroyed houses and shattered walls in India, she was able to build several community centers because she asked the people living there what they needed and used the help of the organization, Architects for Humanity, to raise money and cut through red tape to get the job done.
Kenya: Run Lornah Run
Although Lornah Kiplaghat is one of the few females from Kenya who have decided to pursue a career in running, she has used the money she’s earned to build a training camp for other women because she wants to give them a chance to do something other than domestic work that Kenyan women normally do.

Although Feliciano Del Santos' main focus is about teaching good hygiene through music, he is also encouraging HIV, disease and evironmental education as well, because there is an immeasurable amount of spiritual hunger.

Although Kikuo Murimoto's instutue uses silk weaving to help natives survive, he is determined to revive and preserve the craft, because there is a lack of that traditional component for future generations to come.
3. India: A New Life
Although Father Thomas Koshy's center for street children deals with homeless, parentless, drug and abuse victims, he is promoting change in the lives of these children, because many of the children involved in the prgram are looking toward a happy and successful future.

The social entrepreneur profiled is Feliciano Delsantos. The problem recognized is sanitation. Feliciano Delsantos is an entertainer, who uses his music to teach about hygiene. He established an organization called Estamos, their focus is on water issues, installing pump and wells to provide clean water to the community, he also teaching Aids awareness and prevention. Their relationship to the community that they serve is self preservation, which helps the citizens learn how to preserve their health by learning awareness and sanitation. Feliciano Delsantos inspiration for this came when he lost his leg after contracting polio from contaminated water when he was a child. He took a negative experience and turned it into a positive learning experience for his community. The local component is Niassa, a small town in Mozambique where Feliciano grew up and still resides. The community owns the process by participating and role playing scenes throughout the community to provide information about proper hygiene and sanitation. Felicano Delsantos, says “Don’t forget where you come from; try to do some good while you’re here.”
The social entrepreneur profiled is Dr. Mark Lieberman. The problem documented is a cataract disease; Tibet has an elevation of about 12,000 ft which receives a lot of solar radiation and has an effect on the eyes. The impoverished areas surrounding Tibet have no resources or medical care, and if there is medical care, it’s beyond the reach of the common citizen. In 1996 Dr. Mark Lieberman started an organization call The Tibet Vision Project, to support the poverty stricken country with their epidemic. Dr. Lieberman’s relationship to the community is to teach and train the doctors in Tibet the basics of cataract surgery. He addressed this issue himself, because the government does not assist these poor people, and the amount of people affected by this epidemic is enormous. Dr. Lieberman knows that the citizens will only receive second rate eye care; if he does not lend his expertise. The local component is Tibet; the citizens in the community visit the eye camps in hope of being chosen for cataract surgery. The doctor and his team travel long distance through broken bridges, and washed out roads to support these citizens, who find his support emotional and rewarding.
The social entrepreneur profiled is Father Koshy. The problem is homeless and abandoned children left on the streets. “A child on the streets is what we call roofless. He’s an unprotected child.” (Father Koshy) Frontline World
Father Koshy established New Life Children’s Home in 1989 because the city is overcrowded and there are about 3,000 street kids running around homeless. Father Koshy’s relationship to the community is to preserve the children and restore their lives. Some children will not be saved, due to the emotional and physical damage. One child watched as her mother and father burned to death then escaped to save her own life. Father Koshy has been trying to help her get off the street, but ignores his help. The local component is Vijayawada, a southern Indian city where most homeless children end up when they travel away from home. The community owns the process by employing former street kid as part of a rehabilitation process, and they use their knowledge of the streets to reach out to other street kids.

The organization is for to decrease malaria and other diseases in African nations. And people are being supportive because they want to live without fear of the deadly diseases
