Brenda is a twelve year old girl whos was having a baby. Brenda could barely spell her name. When the community heard that she was having a baby they were in a dissapproval mood. She was left to raise this chilld all by herself. She should of never gotten pregnant.

On this disturbing note, her cousin was her boyfriend. I guess you cant grow when you live in the ghetto. When she gave birth to the baby she was on the bathroom floor. How sad is that? At one point she felt liker her life was out of control.

In conckusion, this should of never happened to a twelve year old girl. It is very sad when something like this comes out in the open. Living in the ghetto as a twelve year old girl is pretty rough.

Brenda’s Got a Baby

Pre-teen pregnancy is a problem for a place where education comes first. It is a problem because children are having children before they can reach their own goals. In the song, “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” Tupac Shakur describes the problems followed by pre-teen pregnancy. Brenda is a twelve year old with a child. She came from a broken home and was not able to make a difference for herself. In addition, Tupac sees choices that Brenda failed to recognize. If Brenda’s parents worked harder to keep Brenda from making bad decisions, she would not become pregnant, tried to sell drugs, and do prostitution to affect the community.

Brenda’s actions affect the community because she was unable to make the right decisions for herself. Brenda was an illiterate child. Tupac states, “That girl can hardly spell her name” (Line 6). This shows that Brenda was unable to take care of herself; and, she is not ready for a child. Tupac also described that Brenda’s family was not good to her. Her parents were not there for her and were careless about her. Brenda’s parents did not acknowledge her because they failed to recognize that she was pregnant. Moreover, Brenda tried to support herself by getting jobs, but she was unable to maintain them because she is underage. As a result, Brenda ended up doing more illegal things. Tupac states:

No money no babysitter, she couldn’t keep a job

She tried to sell crack, but end up getting robbed

So now what’s next, there ain’t nothin left to sell

So she sees sex as a way of leavin hell

It’s payin tha rent, so she really can’t complain; ... (Line 58)

Brenda did not see a choice to improve her life, so she became a victim of drugs and prostitution. In addition, it is terrible that Brenda’s upbringing caused her tremendous trouble. If Brenda had supportive parents to acknowledge her, Brenda’s life would have changed to be more positive.

Because Brenda’s parents were unable to keep Brenda away from more troubles, they are responsible for her poor decisions. It affects the community because it is not right for a child to be parentless and misguided. It also affects other pre-teens for they may repeat Brenda’s mistakes.

Brenda's Got a Baby

Brenda is an uneducated child with a child. Brenda is more like Tupac than his mother Afeni because she’s the product of a drug addict or neglected mother. If the social worker has intervened or tired harder to protect Brenda, then she probably would not have had a baby, drop out of school, became a prostitute tired to sell drugs, and lost her life.

Imagining somebody living alone dealing with so many struggles in such a young age. She was only 12 when she had a baby. Something more disturbing is that she had the baby with her OWN COUSIN. “Brenda can hardly spell her name. A damn shame. That girl can hardly spell her name” (Para. 1). She is so uneducated; she does not know how to spell her own name. That is really sad that she doesn’t know any better but what’s worst is that she have to moral.

As a young girl growing to a teen, it’s really hard taking care of a baby when you can not take care of your own self. No support from her family. “She tried to hide her pregnancy from her family who didn’t really care to see, or give a damn if she went out and had a church of kids” (Para. 3). Her family cared for about the warfare checks more then their own daughter. To look into drug dealing to put food in the table but gets rob working is sad and depressing.

This lyric makes me feel happy for all that I have. I may have struggles but its nothing i can not over come. I feel privilege to have a mother who supports me and a father who does that same. I have parents who want me to get an education and live a better life, who rather push me hard on my education then to give up on me. I can not imagine living her lifestyle. Living in a life full of struggles with no way out but prostitution, drug dealing, and a single uneducated mother is unbearable yet she lived all of her young life with it.

Brenda is a child with a child. No future but survival. She didn’t know how to spell her name and didn’t know she had a baby until the day the baby was born. Brenda threw her baby in the garbage but came back for him because she didn’t know what to do. She had her baby with her cousin she thought would be there for her forever but ran away like she was nothing. She had a family who loved her money more then they love her. She had someone there helping her, but did she/he give all of their attention to her? She became desperate to the point where she sold drugs and her body for money because she knew that will get her through each months pay check. Brenda is a child with a child who lost her life living her life.

Brenda’s Got a Baby

In the song “Brenda’s Got a Baby” Tupac Shakur describes this horrible life of a twelve year old girl Brenda. She becomes pregnant with her cousins child and has no help from her family. She eventually turns to selling drugs, but was unable to do this so she became a prostitute. This would later be the cause for her death. Brenda felt as thought there were no other options that the ones she had taken, but Tupac believed that she had more option. “Just cause your in the ghetto doesn’t mean ya can’t grow” (l3-14). Tupac knew that Brenda had other choices than the ones she took, she just failed to realize what they were. If Brenda had an education she would not have been put into this horrible predicament.

Brenda became pregnant at a very young age and this was due to her lack of education. Tupac describes how Brenda is illiterate and can hardly take care of herself, yet she is going to have a baby. Not only is it bad enough that she is having a baby, but the father is her cousin. Maybe if she had an education she would have known that this is not a healthy relationship. Later on when she is going to have the baby Tupac say, “He left her and she had the baby solo…” (32). Now she would have to try and take care of a child on her own.

After having the baby Brenda needed to support herself in some way. She could not get a real job since she had no education so she had to turn to the only option she could think of, selling drugs. Then when she was unsuccessful at drug dealing she became a prostitute. “She couldn’t keep a job she tried to sell crack, but end up getting robbed So now what’s next, there ain’t nothing left ta sell So she sees sex as a way of leaving hell” (52-55). If Brenda had an education she would have been able to get a real job and not had to turn to drug dealing or prostitution.

In conclusion having an education is crucial in order for a child to not end up like Brenda did. Brenda was a victim of her parents failure to teach her right from wrong. She could have grown up to be someone amazing but because she never went to school she knew of nothing she could do. Instead of being a helpful member of society she became another statistic. This all could have been avoided if only she had an education.

Tupac Shakur’s song “Brenda’s Got a Baby” is about a young girl who becomes pregnant. Tupac sings about a true situation that some people don’t like to talk about: pre-teen pregnancy. In the song Brenda is a twelve year child having a baby. The background he gives to this song is that Brenda is a poor-educated young adult. She does not know how to write her name and does not know how to take care of a baby. She is not ready for this baby, but there is nothing she can do because she was not given the proper education of how to prevent pregnancy. Brenda is a child with a child.
Poverty and exploitation are discussed in this song. Tupac talks about how Brenda can barely spell her name. She does not know that what’s happening to her is wrong. She is so young and was taken advantage of. In the song Tupac says “Brenda got herself a boyfriend/her boyfriend was her cousin” (line 19-20). Brenda is so poorly educated that she does not even realized that having her cousin as her boyfriend is incest. Brenda is from a background that is anything but pretty, fun and carefree. Her mother never really pays attention to her and her father is a druggie. She comes from a similar background as Tupac, but she chooses a different path than Tupac chose. Her family does not care about her or her baby, they only care about getting the welfare check. Brenda tries to find different ways to provide for her baby such as selling drugs and becoming a prostitute “No money no babysitter, she couldn’t keep a job” (line 55), she doesn’t have the proper education to get any other type of job.
Tupac’s song “Brenda’s Got a Baby” is the harsh reality of someone who came from poverty and did not know that there was a whole different world out there for her to explore. She did not see the choices she could have made like Tupac did. She had no family for financial or moral support.

Brenda’s Got a Baby

In Tupacs Shakur’s song “Brenda’s Got a Baby”, he describes a young girl in the ghetto who becomes pregnant. Tupac looks at how this situation happened and what choices can be made after. “I hear Brenda’s got a baby well, Brenda’s barely got a brain”. Brenda is very uneducated and should have been smarter. She could have made a better decision than having sex with her cousin. Brenda is a child with a child.

Tupac is trying to deliever a message through this song. He went through a lot of difficult times and was still able to persevere into one of the greatest rappers of all time. He said it is possible to become a better person even if you’re living in poverty. Tupac wants to show people that there is hope in bad situations and how smarter choices can prevent a horrible future. He tries to stop the common problems and help people how to escape them through his songs.

In the song Brenda ends up with a horrible life struggling for money. “No money no baby sitter, she couldn’t keep a job. She tried to sell crack, but end up getting robbed so what’s next, there aint nothing left to sell so she sees sex as a well of leavin hell”. Brenda looks to prostitution as a way out of her situation. All of this could have been prevented if she protected herself. What has happened is caused by her ignorance.

The song "Brenda's Got a Baby" by Tupac is a song that speaks the life of a young woman in the ghetto. Tupac starts the song off by describing a twelve year old girl named Brenda. As stated by Tupac, "She's 12 years old and she's having a baby, In love with the molester who's sexed and crazy." In this quote Tupac talks about how Brenda is making bad choices in life and how this relationship will be catastrophic. Tupac wrote this song to preach to people that even though they are in a bad situation there can always be room to improve. Brenda had "never really knew her moms and her dad was a junky" as stated in the song and because of this Brenda started choosing the wrong paths which eventually lead to her death.

Due to the lack of parental support in Brenda's life, she ended up being pregnant in her teenage years. Because of all her parental neglection, Brenda found love in the wrong person. This could have been prevented if Brenda's parents had given her an education and been there to support her in stressful times.

Tupac's description of Brenda is a way for him to tell communities stricken with poverty that there is always a way to improve yourself and grow. As stated by Tupac, "Just because your in the ghetto doesn't mean ya can't grow."

Tupac Essay

In the song "Brenda's Got a Baby," Tupac expresses
the struggles of pre-teen pregnancy and how it affects the community. The song is a deep yet sad one about a 12year old female named Brenda. He told the truth and did not hold back, giving many young girls a voice. He told the whole truth, even the parts that people often looked over. "Just cause your in the ghetto doesn't mean you can't grow."

Often times when females grow up in poverty and with
no stable foundation, they end up using other ways to get what they need.
"So now what's next, there ain't nothing left ta sell
So she sees sex as a way of leaving hell
It's paying the rent, so she really can't complain
Prostitute found slain, and Brenda's her name, she's got a baby"
Her life continued down the wrong path, and no one was their to take her hand and show her another way. A young life was taken all because of society failing to hear those whose sounds have been muffled. Even a social worker did not see that she was a child being neglected, so I can imagine she felt helpless.

Brenda was more like Tupac than his mother, because
they both were neglected. "But no one seems ta notice any change in her figure." People did not detect the growth in her body. Her family was more concerned about their own habits and lifestyle. Ultimately, Brenda was murdered because of her crazy lifestyle.

Tupac Shakur's "Brenda's Got a Baby," is about how a young girl named Brenda becomes mired in the turmoil of the ghetto lifestyle. Shakur suggests "Brenda's" family should have supported her and helped her escape the vicious cycle into which she was born.

The titular "Brenda" becomes something of an allegory for Shakur himself, who was born into a single-parent household and, due to his mother's drug-addiction, basically had to raise himself and his siblings. Shakur uses the idea of "Brenda" as something of a symbol for a greater tragedy perpetuated by the uneducated lower class; to whit, Brenda's tragedy is not just her own, it is a continuing cycle, as she is born to junkie parents, sells drugs and sex to support herself and her child who is, again, born into the same environment that she was.

I couldnt resist seen a young teenage mother living in and uncomfortable miserable home who is constanlly dealing with so many struggles in such a young age. Brenda, had the baby by her OWN COUSIN. “He left her and she had the baby solo, she had it on tha bathroomfloor..And didnt even know so, she didnt know what tha throw away and what to keep"(Para. 26). That is really sad that she doesn’t know any better but what’s worst is that she have to sin.

Her family cared for about the warfare checks more then their own daughter. When she should be living in a safe loving enviroment. No child should ever be left behing nor even live in guilty life. Its depressing to see a young woman who grows up with the love of a mother and family thus, falling in love with a rapest.

The opening consists of a duet singing the song’s title repeatedly. Much of the rest of the song is one long verse performed by Tupac. The verse begins with him telling a group that he has heard about Brenda’s pregnancy. He also notes that the girl has had virtually no education in her life, having only barely obtained minimal skills in writing, and calls this a "damn shame", criticizing and has little hope in life. Her family is very poor, and her father is a heroin addict. Brenda is impregnated by her unnamed boyfriend, who is her cousin, but she is successfully able to hide her pregnancy. Tupac explains that it wouldn’t matter to her family if she gave birth, as long as they got their cut of the government assistance.

Although she believes that her cousin will stay with her and help her raise the child, he is merely a molester, and abandons her before she gives birth to her baby on a bathroom floor. Brenda disposes of it by throwing it in a trash bin but later retrieves it as she hears the baby's crying. Her mother scolds her severely, and Brenda becomes so ashamed of herself that she runs away from home.

Brenda now begins a life on her own, and unsuccessfully seeks employment. Her attempt to illegally sell crack cocaine results in robbery, and eventually she views prostitution as her only way to make money. This life path leads to her murder. What becomes of other characters, such as her family, her boyfriend, and the baby itself, is uncertain.

In "Brenda's Got a baby" by Tupac, he speaks on a young 12 year old girl who ended up pregnant by her molester boyfriend who was her own cousin. She hardly had any knowledge because she dropped out of school very early which makes her intelligence level very low to the point where she couldn't spell her own name. "Brenda's got a baby/ well let me show you how it affects the whole community," is my thesis. From Brenda's got a baby, its showing that her body, life as well as baby's life is being affected.

Brenda’s Got a baby Response
In “Brenda’s Got a Baby” by Tupac, he speaks on a young twelve year old girl who ended up pregnant by her molester boyfriend who was also her cousin. She hardly had a brain because she dropped out of school, her intelligence level was so low that she could not even spell her own name. “Brenda’s got a baby/ well let me show you how it affects tha’ whole community,” is my thesis from “Brenda’s Got a Baby; it shows Brenda affecting her parents, her body/ life, her home life, and her baby’s life.
Brenda’s affects her parents by having the baby because it causes the social worker to come every day, which is decreasing their income because she has to home while the social worker is there. “You’re causing me to lose money from the social workers who are here all the time, says Brenda’s mom” (Line 49-51). Because Brenda has had this baby, she’s causing social workers to keep coming to their home every day and that prevents money from being made since her mother has to be home with her.
Brenda’s also affecting her home life by having the baby because she now cannot stay with her parents anymore since she was causing her mom to lose money from the social worker being there every day. Tupac raps:
“Now Brenda’s gotta make her own way can’t go to her family, they won’t let her stay, No money No babysitter, she couldn’t keep a job she tried to sell crack, but end up getting robbed so now what’s next, there aint nothing left to sell(Lines 52-56).
By Brenda having this baby, she’s affected her home life because she now has nowhere to stay so she has to go out and make her own way in life.
By Brenda having this baby she’s affecting her body/ life and the baby’s life as well. She’s making her own way in a negative manner and hurting so many people in the process. “So she see’s sex as a way of leavin’ hell, its paying the rent, so she really can’t complain prostitute, found slain” (Lines 57-59). This baby is causing her to have to now sell her body in order to provide for herself and the baby but now she is dead and this is now affecting the baby because it is stranded and neglected without a mother or father to provide for it.
By Brenda having this baby she has affected the whole community. She’s affected herself, her family, the baby, and her life. In addition, she was only twelve doing all of those things. She should not have been doing and from it she ended up dead and leaving the baby alone without any parents.

Brenda was only 12, she didnt know how to make the right decisions because she didn't have anyone to look up to. This girl gets pregnant by her own cousin and she didn't know what to do ,. Her cousin ends up leaving her and she have the baby solo , on the bathroom floor, so she throws the baby in the trash can ,

man I dont care what anyone thinks , she made the right choice because , why would she being a baby in a world when she know the baby was going to suffer , her moms didn't care for her , and her daddy just wanted sex from her , she knew what was going on. Her mom's didn't have a job to support Brenda any ways. Of course if you live in the ghetto life is going to be hard. So for y'all who think that she was in the wrong , y'all need to think twice upon the story. The girl is NOT is not in the wrong
