Extra Credit: Marilyn Buck’s Poetry

The poem that I listened to was the short poem, 1950’s Girl Thinking about Love, by Marilyn Buck. It was a very good poem comparing a man’s love to drinking a cool coke fresh out the icebox on a summer’s day “in the Mojave Desert at the last filing station.” Although the poem didn’t rhyme it flowed very well and was full of adjectives that vividly described the passion that the girl had about her admirer. The end of the poem kind of went in a different direction for me, but it was very relevant and made the transition for the end of the poem smooth.
