Clarification and Response to the Syllabus
To start out my college career I want do my best to recieve answers for as many of my questions as possible. With that being said it would be helpful to explain what information I got from the syllabus and be sure it is accurate with others.
Our reading list for this semester will be: Stweart Pidd Hates English, The Rose That Grew From Concrete, Evolution of a Revolutionary, and Holler If You Hear Me. We will be expected to keep reading logs, journals, and notes on all books containting key ideas, arguments, and discussion topics for groups. We are expected to keep vocabulary logs and an error chart for each book. At the ends of the books we will write an essay on theme and a research essay inlcuding the short essays from Holler If You Hear Me and Evolution of a Revolutionary along with two to three other sources. In some books there will be doing practice writings and essays that must be kept in their own portfolio for a grade at the end of the semester. All essays must be completed and reviewed/approved by a tutor or teacher and essays with corrections are expected to be revised and have a revision narrative attached.
By the end of the semester we will have collected a portfolio of everything including essays, revisions, and logs. This will be combined with a research paper on a social entrepreneur, the essays, our SPHE assignments, the midterm, and the final to come up with our grade.
This is my understanding of the syllabus so if I am wrong I would appreciate corrections.
As for the goals and objectives of this semester they sound very interesting, new, and fullfilling. I am not very familiar with Tupac Amaru, and my only familiarities are with him as a Rap artist. I am excited to learn more about him and from a different perspective other than a Rap artist. I really do like writing but struggle a little in grammar and analysis, so this class will be no doubt be a big learning experience and I am excited to get started.

Over the course of the next eighteen weeks we will be expected to read a total of four books Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary, Holler if You Hear Me, The Rose That Grew from Concrete, and Stewart Pidd Hates English, though, we will also need a dictionary. In response to these readings we will also be required to maintain a reading log, which should include “key ideas” and vocabulary which we have found ourselves struggling with. In addition to these responses, for Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary, and Holler if You Hear Me we will write a short essay with them being our primary source, but with information gathered from other sources as well. While, The Rose That Grew from Concrete will inspire various free writes. In response to Stewart Pidd Hates English, we will be writing an essay per week, in order for us to develop the essay writing skills using the information we gleam from the book itself.
Before turning in any of our essays we are to have a tutor or a teacher read them and sign off on them. Perhaps this is to ensure the best work possible before we turn it in for a final grade, though we are allowed to make corrections on our essays. The goal shouldn’t be to rely on corrections based off of our professor’s comments and suggestions, but to strike a preemptive blow and do our best from the get go.
For our research project we will have to find out information about a “social entrepreneur” or someone who has used their “creative works for social change.” This person should live in Northern California, and still be alive. I suppose this is to teach us that an individual can make a difference on a more grand scheme of things, maybe this is to inspire us to actually strive to make a difference in our communities.

For the next 18 weeks to come students in the classroom will be expected to write around 8000 words. This class will appeal to pop culture of our life by examining one of hip-hops greatest rappers Tupac Amaru Shakur. This class will not only involve reading and writing but class discussions as well. Alongside discussions we shall be keeping reading logs of all the books assigned in class. One essay a week will be assigned to better help our grammar skills.
I am very excited about the research project because it gives us a chance to show people the type of things that we find fascinating and that we secretly wish we were currently doing. The assigned books seem somewhat boring except for The Rose That Grew From Concrete, that books just sounds interesting. Since I am a social person I feel I will excel in class discussions. I am not too happy with the fact that we have to include what seems to be a checklist with our revised papers. Another thing I am not too fond about is how many little things we have to do on top of our big assignments.
To me it seems like for everything we write about, read or discus we must write about it in a log or some other journal and keep it and make sure its in order. As for our corrections anything we get comments on we must make a checklist and explain what we did wrong and how we fixed it. It feels to me like there are too many small things to do, which could potentially cramp peoples writing style. I personally think if I am to worried about making sure i keep a log and write about what we discussed in class, our essays, key ideas from discussions then I wont really get to focus on what’s more important in an English class which is creative writing, I think.

I'm looking forward to being in a class where one of the main study subjects is someone I am familiar with. I've been a fan of Tupac for a long time. Two of his better known songs, Thugs Mansion and Dear Mama, come to mind when reading the portion about his songs reconstructing his life. Nature vs nurture is also a subject I have looked into with a personal, non school related interest.
I liked your comment on bigotry. Tradition seems to be something regarded as sacred by many cultures. If the continuation of something can be justified solely by tradition, much of the progress of the human race may have never happened. The examples are so blatant I won't list them. In my opinion, most just societies have a foundation built on tolerance. To elaborate, personal freedoms are of the utmost importance. This has a lot to do with Tupac. Two lyrics come to mind. “They’ve got money for wars but can’t feed the poor.” “Instead of war on poverty, they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me.” The first one doesn’t directly have to do with personal freedoms but it suggests that governments have their interest and investment in the wrong area. The second is about a failed drug war, which seems obvious.
I've done well in my previous essay centered classes. This includes both high school and college level courses. I took two at UCSC. One that focused on social issues and equality (my final paper was on Gay Marriage) and one that focused on comics (final was to make my own comic). I feel confident going into this class. Sharing my work with people other than the person grading it is not something I've done much of in the past. This doesn't mean I have a problem with it.

Response to the Syllabus
After reading the syllabus for this English 1A class my interest level was at an all new high for a college course. The texts and themes we will be focusing on are defiantly appealing to me and I am certain by the end of this class I will have better grammar skills and more confidence in my writing as a hole.
We will be covering four texts; three of them will be focused on the late rapper, Tupac Shakur. One of the most influential rappers of his time, I just like millions of other young people gravitated to the lyrics in his music. Needless to say Tupac had a huge impact on my life as a teenager and I look forward to learning more about his life and who he really was. We will also be evaluating what we know and how we came to know what we know, a field called epistemology. I look forward to this part of the course as the fundamentals to how we think and how we acquire knowledge is something that has always interested me.
Objectives for this course include; fluency in reading and writing, skillful application of literary skills associated with academic writing, writing and familiarity of the rhetorical styles used in exposition, narration and argumentation. We are required to keep a reading log for all books read. We should also stay in touch with the news. Buying a daily newspaper or listening to alternative radio is recommended.

Seeing as how I am a fan of Tupac and have been following his music and life story for years, I am looking forward to enjoying a challenging and interesting semester of English learning more about who he was and how he thought. One of the more interesting aspects of him is his relationship he had with his mother. The relationship seemed very strong but I could always hear animosity in his lyrics and it will be great to further explore where his feelings came from. Hopefully one if not all of the books we read will touch on these ideas.
Another thing that caught my eye on the syllabus was the research paper. Usually I am not a big fan of writing research papers, however the topic of what I am able to write about makes it a bit more interesting to me and I am actually looking forward to seeing what I write about.
If anything about this class worries me it is that the multitude of smaller assignments will become overwhelming and hard to keep up with. Being a full time student and working a rigorous work schedule is hard so staying organized and on time will be two of my goals for this semester. Also making sure I see an improvement in my writing will be very important to me and by the end of the semester I hope to see noticeable results.

A counselor had expressed to me that English 1A would be a challenge. I see she was right. In the next 18 weeks it is expected that we read and analyze three books pertaining to Tupac Shakur. It has been noted that we keep a reading log for all books to assist in the group discussions we will be having. In conclusion to the subject two essays will be written for each book locating the theme and researching the text. On a side note, I grew up listening to Tupac’s music and heard of his controversy as a child so I will find this research to be stimulating. Many listeners of his music forget that Tupac was not just a rapper but a poet and an artist. There is much about Mr. Shakur that I still do not know and am ready to investigate his life and his craft.
We have one more book that will give us conditions for our essays and assist in our writings. Stewart Pidd Hates English is mentioned to be fairly helpful and should be completed within 6 weeks. This text goes over grammar and the process of writing an essay. We will also be keeping a reading log for this book and will provide one essay per week as we go over it.
Towards the end of the semester we will be required to complete a research paper on a Northern California entrepreneur. This individual should still be alive and an artist that uses their work to improve on social change. We must provide a 4-5 page essay portfolio including a work cited page and bibliography. This portfolio also includes a presentation on the entrepreneur we choose. I am definitely animated to do this project. I someday hope to work in the art field and have been intrigued by several artists that express social injustice through their artwork.
All subjects of this course seem challenging enough and I hope to take with me a better understanding of Tupac, a wider vocabulary, exceptional writing skills, and a new way to encourage social change.

I Read the Syllabus
This semester we will examine the life and literary works of Tupac Shakur. The texts we will use over the course of class are Evolution of a Revolutionary by Jasmine Guy, Holler if You Hear Me by Michael Eric Dyson and a collection of peotry from The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac Shakur. After we finish reading each book, we are required to write an essay based on its theme. In addition, we will also write a research paper about a social entrepreneur that lives in Northern California.
For each book that we read in this class we are required to keep and regularly update a reading log. An ideal reading log will include key ideas, vocabulary, and the authors writing strategies. In addition, we are also required to keep a vocabulary log and error chart. The error chart consists of all errors that have been made from each essay while the vocabulary log is a list of unfamiliar words that we encountered.
At the end of the semester we will put all of our completed assignments together into a portfolio. The portfolio will consist of 15% of our total grade while essays are 25%, journals and freewrites 15%, Midterm 15%, Final 15%, and research essay 15%.

I have to admit, I was pretty stoked when I read the syllabus and saw that we were doing a lot of work on Tupac in the class. I told my husband and even he was excited!! Being a fan of Tupac for so long, I thought it would be really interesting to look at his work from a writer's perspective. The Rose That Grew From Concrete is a book that I have been wanting to read for quite some time. I'm interested to study the relationship he had with his mother. I think he had a lot of deep feelings towards his mother-some good and some bad. So it will be cool to see what we find out.
The other thing that piqued my curiosity was the research paper. I like that the person has to be in Northern California. I'm looking forward to hearing more details about this project. One of my main goals in this class is to improve my writing skills. I have full confidence that by the time this class is over, I will feel much more secure with my writing.
Some things I didn't like about the syllabus is how many little things we have to do with our research papers, like getting the checklist with our revisions. I'm hoping it won't get too overwhelming! Along with improving my writing skills, I'm also hoping to expand my vocabulary and to also pay more attention to international news. I honestly don't even like watching local news but I think it's important to know what's going on around the world. Good luck to everyone in the class!

I find this Syllabus very useful and informative, for example, I didn't even know we had to get a student ID to use the various labs. The best part about this Syllabus I've found is that I feel like I'm being talked to one on one. The Syllabus is structured in such a way that immediately know what I'll need and what resources I must use in order to be efficient in this class. This Syllabus actually reminds me of one I recieved in one of my college prep English courses in high school which makes me feel more comfortable than I already am.
In this course we will be reading literature on Tupac Shakur, interesting. I have never considered reading any form of literature on this cultural figure. I am a fan of documentaries and biographies, so this subject has my full attention and I should find some enjoyment out of reading these books. At the end of the last paragraph on the Composition and reading section, you mention the nature vs nurture concept. This is very interesting because we discussed this in my high school ethics class, and even more interesting is I discussed this with someone the other day. I look forward to sharing what I have to say on the nature vs nurture concept.
I must admit, I am a little intimidated by the research project. I must find someone in Northern California that is a social entrepreneur and write about them, I only have about one person in mind who I'm not sure even fits in the category. Overall I'm glad the research topic isn't boring, and I'm glad I get to learn more about someone who is a social entrepreneur.

Response to syllabus
After reading the syllabus I found that I was excited and concerned about this course. I have never read, nor thought about, Tupac; therefore, I am excited and somewhat apprehensive to begin this subject study. However, I feel that learning about this figure will be interesting because it is all new to me. Moreover, I am very interested in psychology and the nature vs. nurture approach we will be taking sounds fascinating. I also feel that the reading logs will be helpful in guiding me to be more organized and prepared for eventual essay writing.
I am a strong writer and have no qualms about the amount of essay writing we will be completing. I am a little confused about the writing center help, and if it is mandatory to utilize evaluations of our essays. Furthermore, I am unfamiliar with using a blog to keep up with my assignments and feel that I might fall behind due to a lack of understanding when cyber essays are posted or due.
I look forward to the research essay, it sounds interesting and I like the approach of someone who is a social entrepreneur. Moreover, I am a photographer and artist and like the fact that we will be looking specifically for artists, and our main subject of the course is an artist himself.
Out of this class I hope to gain better analytical skills, as well as improved essay writing and analytical writing.

Syllabus
After reading the syllabus, I thought that the syllabus was very helpful and I was glad that it had a lot of information that would help me become a better student. I have taken an English class with professor Sabir before so I already have an idea of how challenging it will be. I am excited to know that we will be studying Tupac and learning about him, however I was not so excited to know that we will be using the Stuart Pidd book.
The Stewart Pidd book is a book that I hate. I have already done it twice before so to me, the book is lame, however the book can be very helpful. The syllabus also mentioned that we would be working on a social entrepreneur essay this semester. This is not my first time doing research on this topic. I researched and completed an essay on Greg Mortenson during the last time I took professor Sabir class, so I am excited to do this project again.
I also recognized that we would be doing cyber assignments this semester. Honestly I don't like the fact that we don't turn our assignments in because I feel we don't get a chance to connect with the teacher but I can live with it. I am ready to begin the semester.

Syllabus Response
I found the syllabus to be very informative and probably the longest and most detailed syllabus that I have come across. What stuck out to me from the syllabus was the research project we will be doing and that we will be studying the great mind of Tupac Shakur. I am a little bit intimidated by the amount of work we will be doing but I am looking forward to the fact that we will be reading and discussing a lot of material pertaining to Tupac Shakur. Based on what I have read in the syllabus I believe that this will be a good course for me and I will excel in it because when I am interested in a subject, I become more actively engaged which usually results in a positive outcome.
I am very excited that one of the main subjects of this course is Tupac. He is one of my favorite rappers because of his lyrical content and his socially conscious works. I feel as though I know Tupac very well but I look forward to deepening my understanding of his writing and philosophies. I feel that he has a lot to offer and we can learn a lot from him.
Though I am very excited about gaining a greater appreciation of Tupac, I am a little intimidated by the amount of work we will be getting. It seems as though we will be doing a lot of writing in this class. I believe I am a decent writer, but I often come across “writers block” which can potentially be a problem for me. Hopefully I can better my writing skills and overcome my challenges.
Overall I think I have much to gain from this course. I believe it will be very stimulating for me and will give me a chance to sharpen my writing skills. I find a lot of the subject matter interesting, which will make it easier for me to learn. I believe I am ready for the challenges this class may have and I am aiming to get the best grade possible.

Response to the syllabus
The syllabus explains basically everything that we are about to do for this semester in English 1A. I feel like this class will challenge me with my writing and reading skills. The books that are going to be covered are all going to be about Tupac Amaru Shaku, i thought that this is an interesting choice of reading. For each book their will be individual logs assigned to write our responses, questions, summary, etc.
Groups activities will be assigned and each person will have his/her own part to participate. Every week the position of a person in the group will rotate. The professor will give her time to answer any questions by appointment in her office hours. if any help needed the Writing Center is available to help. Their is a computer lab where a computer is available to be use, but a student id card is needed. Their are also tutors that can help correct and improve essays. When an essay needs to be corrected, the student have to go to the tutor and get a signature proving that they went there to get help.
A lot of writing will be accomplished and by the end of the semester a portfolio will be due. Their will be no cheating and plagiarism allowed. All work cannot be late or it will lose a point everyday it's late. Focusing on everything that has to do with writing, the skills to get an essay complete without any mistakes, understanding literature, and cooperatively working with groups of people.

The syllabus for this english 1A class is very informative. The professor broke down pretty much everything we need to know and also answered everyones questions in class. I feel like I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the libary and computer labs doing english homework, not that its a bad thing, just a lot of writing. But writing about so much about someone I'm familiar with will hopefully make it easier.
Our main focus and reading this semester is going to be on Tupac Shakur. We will be reading five books in the course of our study: Stewart Pidd Hates English by Gary Pillott, The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac Amaru Shakur, Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary by Jasmine Guy, Holler If You Hear Me by Michael Eric Dyson, and Rules for writers by Diana Hacker. Its pretty cool that the professor is so into Tupac. He's not neccessarily from all the student generation, but everyone has heard about him and heard his music. I feel reading and writing about Tupac will make it easier to achieve the goals I have set for myself for this class.
Just like the number of books we are reading, I have five goals set for the class this semester. 1)Fully complete the semester with passing grades. 2)Grow as a writer and get out of old writing habits and learn new, correct writing styles. 3)Use and learn a more descriptive, articulate vocabulary, in conversations as well as in my writing. 4)Broaden my reading. 5)Pass with an "A." My goals are pretty high up there but im going to push myself all semester to reach atleast a couple of them. This is going to be a busy semester, but im ready for it.
Thanks for all the comments. I look forward to discussing the syllabus with students in more detail in class today and tomorrow.
Students do have to have an electonic copy of theis essays for peer reviews and I do comment on the essays and return them. I don't necessarily comment on all cyber-assignments.
Students can always print out a copy of a cyber-assignment for comment (smile).
If I get carried away with assignments, please let me know, that is, students are having trouble keeping up, let me know (smile).
I appreciate the students who spaced their essays so that they was easier to read. I also appreciate the comments which actually were a response rather than a summary of the syllabus--I wanted to know what you think, not what I said.
Many student used my words exactly without correct annotation. Watch that.

RESPONSE TO TUPAC SONG-keep your head up: I think Tupac was trying to encourage woman and men to build themselves up because he wanted a lady or woman to be his wife or mother of his children. His song was written in the comparison form of good men and woman vs. bad one's. Who are ideal mates and child supporters or one's who need encouragement to revive their inner value. In his song it sounds like a plea for both men and woman to stop mistreating eachother increase their manners. "if he can't learn to love you you should leave him", sounds like a man's role unfulfilled. "I'm still trying to hold on to surviving friends", shows his effort to keep things together. as well as "I'm tryna mak a dollar out of 15 cents. that is my view of the theme in tupac "keep your haed up' song

My goals for this year are as follows: I want to be able to pass all of my classes with at least an A- . I’m also planning on getting a job at UC Berkeley so hopefully I’ll be able to handle being a full time student and having a part time job. I really want to get some volunteer hours in tutoring for the UC Berkeley Upward Bound program too, but I’m not entirely sure If I’ll have enough time.
My eyebrows went up twice as I read the syllabus. First at "I believe we're supposed to write about 8000 or so words or so...." and then again at the part wear its stated that we will
be reading about Tupac Shakur. I’ve been of Tupac since I was about 7 or 8 and Ive read lot of different articles about him and they were pretty interesting so I’m really excited about getting
a more in depth analysis. I’m also really interested in the research paper that we have to write for this course. I feel like I’m really going to enjoy this course, which makes me feel a little more relaxed about everything.
I’m really into reading, and the book titled “Evolution of a revolutionary” seems like it will be really interesting. Although I have to admit I’m not to enthusiastic about “Steward Pidd Hates English” because I feel like its going to be filled with stuff that I learned while in high school, I haven’t bought that book yet so we will see.

The goals and objectives of this fall semester in English 1A seem very positive and exciting. All the books we are planning to read are at most intriguing. It seems as if this class will help me a lot in my studies. Reading all these new and interesting novels and poetry will expand my vocabulary, improve reading skills, and I will have knowledge on different authors. Your assignments seem to be fair and stimulating. I believe all of the class’s goals can be achieved and we can all receive valuable information from all the text we will be reading throughout the semester.
First and foremost, I highly agree that reading logs are very important anytime you read a novel. A reading log is crucial to keep notes in order to refresh your brain before a big exam. Reading logs also help you keep track of what part of the book you are and they help you get a better understanding of what you read. Also I’ve personally haven’t really learned about Tupac Shakur but I’m very enthusiastic and open to new things.
All in all I think this year will be successful and full of wonderful experiences.
I truly cannot wait to see what this year may hold for me in this class. I’m excited for all the book, poetry, music, and grammar information I will receive from you. Also the writing and reading skills I will learn without a doubt will make me successful one day. That’s why I highly agree with your syllabus and goals for our class this semester.

Response to Syllabus
After reviewing the syllabus, I am excited about the material we will be covering. Tupac Shakur was someone who’s music I enjoyed, especially during high school. I have read and watched biographies/documentaries about him, which were all very inspiring. He is a complicated yet intelligent individual who I definitely am excited to learn and explore more about.
As for the Literature Circles, I have to admit I am a little nervous about it. I usually don’t like to work in groups. I will definitely try to keep an open mind and do my best to participate but I’m not so confident about how the experience will go.
I appreciate your grading method, its pretty fair. I like the idea of having a portfolio of all of our work throughout the semester because then it can really show not only all the work we’ve done but also where we started and hopefully the improvements we’ve made.
All in all, the syllabus is very thorough in addressing what we will be learning and after reading what is expected of us in the “student learning outcomes” section, I am looking forward to evaluating my skills and knowledge from where I began in the course to the end of the course.

Response to the Syllabus
After reading the class syllabus, I must say that I am looking forward to taking this class. I am glad to see that we will be covering a diverse range of texts from several interesting authors. I am a big fan of Tupak Shakur’s music, but I have never had the chance to study his life and his other literary works. The learning approaches that we will be using will surely benefit me. Our required responses to the readings will certainly improve my writing skills, and that is really what I hope to gain from this class. I’m delighted to see that the syllabus clearly outlines how we will progress through the course, thus I believe I will enrich my writing skills and literary knowledge.
I am well aware of the importance of keeping a reading log. By keeping a reading log on each of our books, we will strengthen our understanding of the texts. I am looking forward to participating in the Literary Circles. I enjoy working in groups. I feel that in order to gain the most out of school a class should implement a variety of learning approaches. I personally am not too fond of writing long essays. However, I am looking forward to the research paper because of the topic. I think an interesting topic makes for a good essay.I think maintaining a portfolio is a great idea. By keeping all of our work we will be able to track how we progressed throughout the semester.

Response to the Syllabus
First off, I believe that the information provided in the syllabus, will help the students' current english skills. It is well put together in format and literacy. It also gives encouragement to the students who may see this English 1A course, as too great of a challenge.
The method of teaching she has chosen will impress most of the students that can relate to his messages.
Lastly, the grading scale is very much appropriate due to the quality of work that needs to be produced, especially at the English 1A level or literacy.

Well I must say the syllabus is pretty long and I was thinking about all these books we have to read. But I suddenly began to think how great it is to have a English teacher that has a plan an mission to educate us students. I love reading, It is a activity that I used to hate. For the past two years I have been doing alot of reading on my own and can appreciate your syllabus.
I am most interested in reading "Holler If You Hear Me". I am a fan of Mr. Dyson and can't wait to hear what he has written in this book. I will say I'm not the biggest Tupac fan but I do recognize his talents and the many souls he has touched.
Overall I thank the most high for the chance to participate in this class. I look forward to being the lucky person that benefits off your syllabus and all the knowledge you will teach us.

My love for music can also be shared here in the Sabir community, because I share some of the same great interests in the culture that I belong to as Tupac did. I am very outspoken, yet respectful. I like to help others, as well as, allow my fellow peers to help me get a clear understanding of the things being taught and researched.
Lastly, the grading scale is very much appropriate due to the quality of work that needs to be produced, especially at the English 1A level or literacy.

Hi my name is Quincy Taylor. My intentions in this class are to learn more English than I already know for my future. While reading the syllabus I was very excited about the text that we are going to read. When I saw that we would be reading about Tupac I was like “really!” wow, I mean I’ve listened to his songs, watched moves, and documentaries about but going deep into his life is something else. I want to have my writing skills up to par by the end of the semester and go away with a high grade in your class. I do wish that we can have more time in your class so that I can have more support from you but that’s ok, it’s a learning experience for me; to see how things are going to go once I attend a four-year college. Like my granny always say “you can never learn to much”, and I believe that so whatever you through at us I’m going to take it in headfirst.
The text that we are going to be reading I believe they are fantastic text. One, its about the legend himself Tupac Shakur. I believe that this aren’t just books they are books that has history in them. If you didn’t like him I truly believe everything you thought about him will change.
I love the portfolio because it brings you back to when you were a little kid well at least to me it kind of does. It’s showing you all the work you have done and how much progress you have improved.
The syllabus is pretty much straight forward the grading I believe is fair. You expect us to, as you say it “multi tasking,” and if we cant do that we are going to be in a world of trouble. Again I am excited and ready for action. I have faith that I’m going to pass this class and I’m ready to take the challenge.

In the Depths of Solitude Free write....
To exist in a state of solitude is to be in a state being alone. In isolation. I feel like he wrote this poem when he felt alone in the world. "trying to find peace of mind, and still preserve my soul", said to me I'm out here in the world and i'm sorrounded by temptation and I'm trying to keep myself at peace. He was in a place an time in his life where there was no peace,no sanity. He felt alone and still was in the presents of other. He was yearning for respect of other for his talents but was never understood. "The duo inside of me", said to me that he was fighting with himself, alternating from the good to the bad. Eventhought his messages wheren't always conducted in an ordinary fashion,"simplicity". The main point of veiw was the message he was relayed.

Heal the World
The song touches on how the world we live in is under self-destruct. The children are the future. “There’s a place in are hearts and I know that its love”, but the troubles and the sorrow we feel can be all washed away if we start helping my fellow brother. The Heal the world song is such an uplifting song for are entire human race. It brings a since of forgiveness and the wont to lend a helping hand. The part of the song that states “ If you want to know why there’s a love that cannot lie, love is strong it only cares for joyful giving if we try we shall see in this bliss we cannot feel fear nor dread we stop and start living”. What that statement said to me is if we stop and look at ourselves first for the answer we will be an existence and start living for a better world not just hoping to be in one,one day.
