Im not really a fan of Gospel rap, or gangster rap for that matter but I think this song was pretty cool. ALthough a lot of the styling in the recording of the song have some of the same elements as gangster rap just with without the facade.THis song is a testimony within a testimony. It testifies that not all rap is bad and I can respect anything that comes from somebodies heart.

Well I was a little distracted from the last part of the song because I was helping a student get on the blog. I did get the Jyst of the song though and I thought it was a nice song, not a whole lot of negativity and no "Big booty womens" that I've come to expect from a lot of songs these days. The song has a good beat and nice lyrics. I really liked the chorus with the woman singing it was pretty cool. I don't have much more else to say other than I'd like to see the song on iTunes!

Freewrite response to "My Testimony."

In "My Testimony," written by Sebastian Chastang is about finding God, and the inner strength to follow in "his" footsteps. Moreover, it is about the journey that Sebastian has endured, and how God helped him overcome his worst times. Personally, I do not believe in the westernized God that many of us seek guidance from; however, Sebastian's deep emotion, soul, and faith that shows through in his lyrics is something I do believe in. Finding inner serenity and guidance is crucial in this life, and when one finds their niche it is a lovely thing.

I enjoyed listening and writing the song. I had some difficulties recording it, but I didn't allow that to discourage me. The song touches the depths of my soul eachtime i hear or perform it. I hope that it reaches and inspires the live of the young mean/ladies that are aspiring artist. I also would like for this song to encourage believers of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And for those who don't know Jesus Christ and what he can do for them, my future music is coming to stell of the Gospel of Christ. I thank you all and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. have a blessed day.

I really enjoyed listening to Sebastian song My Testimonney. It had very strong lyrics through out the song.I am a believer in god so i could rely relate to the theme of the song which was that God is capable of anything.I would love to hear more of Sebastians music.
I like the fact that sebastians music talked about important issues and gave a positive message to the listeners instead of just promoting violence or sexism.

In response to Sebastian:

That's great that difficulties in recording did not discourage you because I know for sure difficulties would discourage me. Sometimes I like to make small videos and post them on youtube and I come across a bunch of problems with editing my video. At the end of the day I usually get discouraged and give up my little video project.
Good luck with your music!

The song testimony by Sebastian Chastang was very good. It’s something that a lot of people can’t do because of fear of what others might say. He speaks on god as if their no other people that can help him in life or understand him which is what god is here for. Yes we might all live crazy live style and get stressed out when things don’t go our way; or if we feel like their nothing we can do but fall. this song shows that no matter what you go though you can change your life.

My Testimony

I really enjoyed this song. It's great to hear someone announcng their love for life and the creator to the world. Inspirational music is needed in these crazy times we live in right now and this song can give hope to anybody who may be feeling down, lonely, or struggling. Who ever the artist is should keep up the good work.

Sebastian's song My Testimonney is to me is about Sebastian finding God.The Song was pretty straight forward.I'm a catholic so i too believe in Jesus Christ so i do agree with most of what Sebastian raps about. I didn't expect any negative or explicit things to be said because the genre is GOSPEL rap so it would be dumb of me to even think for a second i would hear anything bad.

My Testimony
This song is really inspiring in so any ways. I can tell that Sebastian has been through a lot of struggles to get to where he is he today. He was afraid to go on without God. In the beginning he was with god but he was afraid of experiencing himself like he is now. He’s thanking god for giving him another chance at life. He was saying that when your at your worst he will pick you back up on your feet. Its making you learn from your mistake. When your days cloudy or you are in the storm he will make the sun come for you and your day will be better. I say have faith, believe in yourself and stay positive and you will be ok.

Response to song “My Testimony” by Sebastian Chastang

In Sebastian Chastang’s song “My Testimony” he raps about his belief in God. He has a strong belief that God is there for him spiritually and emotionally. God gets him through the many hardships in his life. He demonstrates a sense of maturity when he talks about how he does not blame God for the problems in his life, but instead appreciates and learns from them. His trials in life has brought him far in life. I like that he’s honest about his wrongdoings. For example, when he says, “in the streets getting high plotting all that crime” he is owns up to his mistakes. The chorus and the beat were great. It was a well made song. It flowed and it was easy to listen to.

Response to C.E. on song “My Testimony” by Sebastian Chastang

In response to what C.E. wrote about Sebastian Chastang’s song, “My Testimony”, I agree that putting a song out is definitely not an easy task. Thinking about what others might say can be very discouraging, but Sebastian Chastang had enough confidence to do it. His talent definitely shines through in the song and I thought it was very good as well.

I thought the song was pretty interesting and suprisingly good. It is nice to see another artist that raps about non-violent and positive themes. When I first heard the beat it somewhat reminded me of a Wiz khalifa beat. Its that kind of old school sound with a modern twist. The part of the song that stuck out to me the most is when Chastang says, "I think of them long nights when I was living the wrong life I didn't take a second to think of the power of gods' might like for instance did I thank god for waking me up." Here, Chastang acknowledges the fact that he made some mistakes in his life, but realizes he is now a changed man thanks to the power of god.

I thought that the song was very well written. I thought the content was really good. I thought the song was more about the words than the music itself. Overall I enjoyed this song very much.

I really like the rhythm and tone to the song. Some rap songs trail off topic, but I really like the way that you tied all of your experiences back to your appreciation for religion and God. The beat to the song was very catchy and interesting. The way you used the high pitch voice as the chorus gave the song another tone that I liked a lot. I appreciated how you talked about very negative experiences making you who you are today; I think that is a quality that can really benefit people that have had a hard childhood. The song overall was very good and I would really be interested in hearing some more of your music!

I had trouble listening to the song because i clearly was caught off guard and i did not understand the context of the song. The only thing that was interesting to me was that it was gospel rap. The genre of gospel, mixed with the interesting beat and the tone of voice the artist was using made for a very difficult combination to understand.

I enjoyed listening to Sebastian’s song. Not only did I enjoy the beat but the words were astounding. I did not feel there were any breaks in the music to cause it to sound choppy. I felt the message he relayed was clear and I am impressed. I hope to hear more of his music in the future.

I really enjoyed Sebastian Chastang song "My Testimony." I was pleasantry surprised with his talent. I really liked the beat, it was the perfect in collaboration with his voice. I have always liked hearing a persons life story. While it is interesting to hear, it helps me really understand the person behind the music; I believe that a persons experiences mold and build their character. I really like how he acknowledges God. In-spite of all the trials and tribulations he is still pushing because he realizes that there is a bigger plan for his life. Sebastian did a great job on this song. I am grateful that he had the opportunity to share his work with us.

I appreciate when someone has found something that they feel has made themselves and their life better than before. It doesn't matter whether it is a goal, a calling, or faith. The lyrical content for me was inspiring and probably would be for people of the same religion, a different religion, or no religion. I listen to a lot of rap and having a shift from the controversial subjects we are currently discussing was a welcome change.

I am not a big fun of a rap music which promotes violence, machismo, sexism, homophobia, and disrespecting a women, however, I enjoyed listening to sabastian's song "my Testimony".Beside of the rhythm and lyrics, I like more the overall message of the song.He has been through many negative life experience, but just trusting God and waiting for him made his life better. He governs his personal life, his personal morals and eventually rescued him out of many problems. God is good, God is great.
