Believable Summary

The use of public assistance by Illegal Immigrants
In summary, the economics and structure of our (USA) public assistance supports a vast majority of illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants come to the USA, work under the table, get paid cash or money under a false identity, and pursue public aid; such as WIC, Welfare, Food stamps and Medi-cal. Additionally, they reproduce and have children that will need to take advantage of programs that were originally put in place for American Citizens.

The use of public assistance by Illegal Immigrants

The USA provides many great benefits. Not only does the government support the citizens of the USA, it also helps secure nutrition, well-being and security to all people residing in the USA, legally or illegally. The government has programs such as WIC , food stamps, Welfare and medi-cal that can assist any human lying in the USA the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. All of these programs are designed to ensure that women, children, families have food to eat, a place to live and health care; this is regardless of age or race or nationality.

Fast Food Summary

Summary #1
Children and adults alike should know better when making choices of dietary needs outside of the home. There are so many alternatives to fast food places to dine at. For example, most grocery stores such as Safeway or trader Joes offer a selection of ready to eat meals that would be a much wiser and healthier choice than fast food. Fast food diners have caused a huge spike in childhood obesity and diabetes. They should be banned all together.
Summary #2
Fast food restaurants offer many great choices and options. There is a recent blame on these fast food diners that suggest they are to blame for recent spikes in childhood diabetes and obesity. The only people to blame for these increases are the people effected by them. Everyone has choices of quantity and quality of what they decide to put in their mouth. As a parent you can still use these fast food diners as an option when in a time crunch; however most offer a healthy option, or if anything, a lesser quantity of food. Fast food should be used when needed, not as a crutch on a regular daily routine. At the end of the day, the diners themselves are not to blame for health issues.

Social Security

Congress in their last secession of 2013 was contemplating cuts in Social Security. With the federal budget on the rise. Couple with the government’s handling of American tax dollars the most venerable of our citizens is holding their breath. Waiting to see if the persons, they sent to Washington to represent their interest will vote to cut their Social Security Income. Most people who receive Social Security are also seeing their medical costs skyrocket along with gas and food. With jobs at a premium, there are very few outlets for Social Security recipients to increase their income. With all of these factors going against the recipients, any cut in their Social Security Income would be devastating.
Social Security
Social Security Income Program is supported by contributions that workers make into the system during the time they are employed. The program is set up thru the Federal Insurance contributions Act. The program works on the premises that the working class will take care of the retirees who have contributed prior to retiring. These funds are under the direct rule of the United State Congress. There are many who believe there lies some of the main problems that seem to loom over the program. Money that is normally earmarked for Social Security can be diverted. When there is another budgetary issue elsewhere, it can mean that the money once earmark for Social Security can use for other areas of the federal budget.

Summary # 1
In this fast pace world, there is a lot of pressure to do things that are quick and easy. One thing that I find that is great ways to insure that you and your family can have inexpensive and convenient meal that can be a health alternative to going to a fast-food restaurant is prepare that meal at home. Meals that are prepared at home just for the purpose of eating them on the go can be portion friendly. These meals can be a cost saving way to eat. You can carefully plan what food groups are needed to make up a balanced meal and make it a project that the whole family can be a part of. By concentrating on portion size and sugar content, you can send your family out into the world with health, low cost meal that is a great alternative to fast-food.

Summary # 2

When looking at the issue of obesity in this country, we must look at several factors. One such factor is the responsibility of the person who is eating the foods that contain high amounts of fats and sugar. If a person is in charge of their eating habits, then they must get the information needed to make the needed changes in their eating. Fast-food restaurants are now including in their menu information about portion sizes and what the fat and sugar content of each item on that menu. They are also allowing their customer a chance to swap a health option for the not so healthy option in all of their children meal deals. This is a great step for people to make some changes in their diet and get some valuable information about making healthy choices while still enjoy some of the menu choices at a fast-food restaurant.

“They Say” Chapter 2 Exercises

1. In the article, “Abortion: A Choice Against Women”, by Fr. Frank Pavone he explains how arbotions are actually not giving women a choice. He states that women get abortions because they feel they have no choice. Pavone claims that women are not given accurate information when getting an abortion. They are told it will be painless and aren’t warned about the effects a decision like this will have on them both physically and emotionally. Accroding to Pavone women are fooled into believing abortions are safe.
In my view, however, women are smart. It takes a lot to come to the decision of getting an abortion. There is so much information out there about the procedure that women can be well informed. In regards to the emotional effects abortion can have on women, it is obvious that a decision such as this would have a huge impact on them. It is the womens decision to say if she is ready to give birth to a child or not.
2. Zinczenko claims that fast food restaurants are every where, therefore teenagers don’t have that big of a choice when contemplating what to eat. That may be true. but teenagers don’t have to eat two or three chesse burgers at one sitting. They can have one. They can go grocery shopping and buy fruits that can be eaten as snacks. The healthy choices are there, it’s just a matter of looking for them.

Zinczenko states that being over weight is an issue. There is nothing wrong with being over-weight. Society and pop culture have instilled this idea that everyone must be stick thin to be beautiful or healthy. Just because a person doesn’t have a six-pack or runway model looks does not mean they are unhealthy.

They Say Exercises 1&2(p.40-41)

Exercise #1

Marriage should be between a man and a woman, so the bible says respectively. Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, henceforth God instituted marriage between the two. In Genesis 2:24, it states: "Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh."

In the bible it clearly states man and woman uniting to become one through the sanctity of marriage; our American government, however, sees religion and state separately. There is a fine line between our human right to love who we love, and the religious belief that marriage shall only be right and just between man and woman.

Exercise #2

David Zinczenko advocates for a fast, healthy alternative for teenagers who eat at fast food restaurants. He reaffirms that cheaper meals attract teenagers whose parents work long hours. Although he is absolutely right about how affordable McDonald's meals are, I an say the exact same for a healthy bag of apples from local produce stands. Apples--especially sliced apples--are more filling than a chicken nugget meal at a local Burger King or Wendy's. Fruits and vegetables are obviously healthy, and according to food psychology, when you eat sliced apples, it seems as if you're eating a lot so you eat slower, and therefore you feel more full. Along with feeling fuller, the cost of five apples is roughly the same as a meal at McDonald's.

For a health nut like David Zinczenko, fitness comes easy; for the rest of America however, some find it rather difficult. Obesity related cases in children today are 30% in comparison to 5% in 1994. David complains that fast food restaurants are to blame for the obesity epidemic today. Although fast food franchises are catalysts to this equation, ultimately, diabetes is a medical condition. As each generation of children are born in America, they are born into a a society where portion sizes have become larger. Since food intake is higher and portion sizes are bigger, the younger generation's body will adapt, and therefore will develop diabetes.
