Week April 21-26

At our last meeting two weeks ago we reviewed the final drafts of the essays and how to submit the Essay 1 Portfolio. I have read all the essays submitted correctly. If your essay was not read, please respond to my query.

If you missed the deadline, speak to me in person.

Essay 3

I also gave students copies of the next two essay assignment sheet with due dates. We also watched a Frontline World Video on Ralf Hotchkiss (Whirlwind wheelchair), who invented the Rough Rider wheelchair. Students will watch three videos over the next 1-2 weeks, find a social entrepreneur to profile and get my approval early next week.

We spoke about Social Entrepreneurs, defined who they are and where students might look to find one to profile.

We also spoke about how to do an annotation.

Not that many students were in class, which means quite a few of you will have to read this post carefully (smile).

There will be a lot of posts this week and next.

Happiness Project Cyber Forum continues

We will continue with The Happiness Project Cyber-Forum Discussions. We will also continue with They 
Say, I Say, two chapters this week and two chapters next week.
 
Essay 2 Peer Reviews

Essay 2 is due this week for a peer review. The final draft is due next week, Monday-Wednesday, April 28-30, 2014 via email: coasabirenglish1A@gmail.com

I suggest you use your on-line forums. Everyone has classmates' email addresses. Use this to get feedback on Essay 2.

Revisions for Essay 1

The revisions for Essay 1 are due this week. Make sure you include Revision Goals for the new draft. Include the graded draft with this portfolio.
