Freewrite - Heal the World lyrics

In "Heal the World," written by Michael Jackson, the theme of healing and making the world a better place is prominent. He makes the point that after all the tragedy that has occurred, and continues, around the world it is our responsibility to heal globally. "If you care enough/For the living/ Make a little space/ Make a better place..." this lyric touches upon the fact that we do not necessarily act like we care, and if we made space and time in our lives then we would all have the power to make the world a better place. Moreover, he discusses bringing a bright future for the upcoming generations, " they say they want to make it a better place for our children and our children's children so that they know it's a better world for them..." I believe this is especially important because, if we act upon the dreams of morphing the world into a better place to live than we can pass on that legacy to the next generations; if they learn peace and how to take care of nature and fellow beings then slowly through each generation the world will in fact become a better place. Written after the tragedy of September 11th, this song delivers a strong message that I think everyone can relate to, as well as learn from.

There’s one stanza in the song that really stuck out to me. “If you want to know why there’s a love that cannot lie, love is strong it only cares for joyful giving. If we try we shall see in this bliss we cannot feel fear or dread, we stop existing and start living.” Even though it sounds cliché, I really felt that verse in my heart. It tells me that once you realize that one love, it makes you feel like you’re alive. That there’s a meaning to our existence instead of just reproducing to make sure our human population continues to grow. I am a true believer of love for all people, that we are here to heal each other. The thought of giving not only give the others hope, but that self gratification of making a difference goes a long way. I understand that this feeling helps me get through my daily obstacles and it allows me to feel great about myself and others. We don’t have to fear anything when people from all corners of the world have love for one another. We don’t have to cry over the pain because there are people that are there for you to help pick you back up. In the hard times that we are living, we can overcome many disasters, castrophes, and heartaches together. Life is more than breathing and eating, it’s to live for that love that makes us thrive.

What really interests me in this song is the beginning, when the little girl is speaking. She says “I think about the generations and they say they wanted to make it a better place for our children and our children’s children” I feel like parents and grandparents have been saying this forever, how they do everything the thing they do to benefit their children. With this song Michael Jackson is really saying how that’s what he wants to do. He wants the world to be a safe and peaceful place for the children to be able to grow and be joyful. He wants to heal it of all the pain from the horrible things going on like wars or famines so that the world can be a better place for not only himself but everyone else.

Michael Jackon’s “Heal the World” freewrite response

I feel like it’s a good song, it’s cheerful and optimistic. Michael Jackson talks about how if we really cared that we can make a better place for the entire human race to live in. I feel this song is a little too optimistic because I feel as if that there really isn’t that much of a brighter tomorrow as described in this song. “See the nations turn their swords into plowshares”, this probably will never happen. Nations and empires have had conflicts for thousands of years, there’s no way nations would “turn their swords into plowshares”. I do like the song’s optimistic view that together we can create a better tomorrow, a brighter future. This take on the world, that together we can make a better life for everyone, is very innocent in my opinion. I feel like a kid would only have that kind of mentality.

In “heal the World,” by Michael Jackson, he sings about saving the world for our future generations. He sings about saving the world in a very childish point of view. Michael Jackson is letting his listeners know that there can be a utopia if we each do our part to help end things like war, poverty, and famine. In Stanza 4 lines 1-9 Jackson is telling us about the current horrors of the world like death. He urges us to make the world a better place. His most important thought is to make the world a better place for our children. I dislike this songs because all he is doing is preaching. I do not see any ideas on how to realistically help the world. The rest of the songs seems pretty repetitive to me

Michael Jackson “Heal the World” free write response

“Heal The World” by Michael Jackson is a song focusing on making a world better for future generations. There are so many negative things going on in our world war, terrorism, genocide and murder just to name a few. I believe Michael Jackson is trying to create global harmony though the lyrics in this track. This song attempts to bring hope and belief that through togetherness we can overcome all the bad things that happen in our world.

The song “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson, is meant to give us a sense of happiness and make us feel empowered to change the world. But to me this song is depressing, the music; the w3ay it sounds makes it seem like it’s a melody, a slow beat song. Although this song might be depressing if you pay attention to the lyrics you can see a beautiful meaning behind this “depressing” song. For example when he says “There’s a love that cannot lie, Love is strong it only cares for joy” You can see the way Michael really felt towards Love, He says love cannot lie, and it only brings joy to the world. Also, in the chorus of the song he repeats “There are people dying if you care enough for the living make a better place, for you and for me” This part is my favorite, as it reminds us all that we need to make the world a better place, not just for one self, but for everyone else.

Response to Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World”

The song “Heal the World” is one that adds to Jackson’s ‘resume’ of outstanding character. Throughout his time, Michael Jackson has shown the world his amazing musical and performing talents, as well as his care for the world around him and the people within it. To me, “Heal the World” is a song that cries for attention to be brought among audiences everywhere who both need help in their lives and who can offer help to others. The song points out that a much better future could lie ahead with the avid participation of everyone in our community. Unlike other songs related to the topic of world improvement, “Heal the World” does not go into detail about the particular troubles that Jackson intends to address, but the essential focus that this song is based on is the promotion of life; Jackson spreads the message of creating a better life for everybody. This song extends Jackson’s feelings of the universal expression of love for one another, and as stated, “Love is strong. It only cares for joyful giving.” (Verse 2) The meaning of life and the elimination of unnecessary deaths could bring us to a “brighter” future, because life is the greatest gift that we have and for others to take that away from us is unfortunate. We should work to improve the conditions that make others choose to destroy life rather than to share love.

In response to the song Heal The World by Michael Jackson , I interpreted that it is a call out to humanity about all the different issues surronding the world we live in. Personally , all the issues Michael Jackson points out in his song are very real and still existing today. There are people starving in most of the world. Rascism still lives on till this day . There are people who just seem to exist instead of live life to its fullest. A lot of people are not gratefull for what they have and always just seem to want more and more. We got to realize there are people still living in dirt houses with no clean water . We take for granted what we have and that is what eventually will bring humanity down. I witnessed food restuarants throw away countless amount of food just because the order was wrong , when theres millions of homeless people worrying about where their next meal might come from. We have enough money to pay basketball players, rappers, and celebraties millions of dollars but we cannot help starving children? There are places in the world where clean and sanitary water is still not an option and people dying of diseases that can be prevented with proper medical care. The world can be a better place if we all just strive to succeed and help eachother.

This song is very powerful. Michael Jackson makes it very clear that we need to heal our world here in America and in other countries. Places like Africa, Haiti, etc. healing this world, if it can happen which I think will take a very long time, but anything is possible. People usually start small and increase as they go along. Michael was a great Humanitarian for this world. He has given an enormous amount of money to this world. He is one of many people who cared about how other people lived in this world. “There are people dying if you care enough for the Living Make it a better place for you and for me.” He put the people first before he put himself. If we could create a world with no fear then we would be ok people will be happy. He said “Save it for our children” if we save it the next generation and they will make it a better place.

In Michael Jackson’s, “Heal the world”, He expresses his compassion for the less fortunate. His compassion is fed by the love he has toward mankind. He shows an unusual kind heart through his music. The contrast between today’s music, and the music or a latter decade, is phenomenal. A decade ago, Michael Jackson told of the necessity to heal the world of its inner pains caused by the inhabitants of the earth. The poverty is strongly articulated in his music because of his background and how his family struggled to prosper.

I love the theme of the song “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson but there were also a few things I did not like about it. The song addresses the issues we have in the world but does not go into any specifics. It only suggests that the people of the world open their hearts to love and peace so that the world may become a better place. I think the song might have been better if Jackson made subtle reference to the reasons why the world is in such a horrible position. I also found the video somewhat unappealing. All the video showed was a bunch of third-world country children with overlooking American militant figures. This somewhat disturbs me because part of the reason the whole world is suffering is because of our American imperialistic policies. This song somewhat feels like a child’s lullaby because it gives listeners a strong sense of optimism for our world, yet fails to make any suggestions as to how we may fix our problems or what initially cause them or even what the problems are.

The part of the song that I want to talk about is the begging where the little girl is speaking, which I think serves as the thesis for the song. She starts saying,"I think about the generations and they say they want to make it a better place for there children's children" I think that that statement is true and that our intentions start of this way but that somewhere in between what we say and what we do we get confused. At the end of the first poem in "The rose that grew from concrete" Tupac writes "long live the rose that grew form concrete when no one else even cared"; This seems to be more of a realistic view on things. We often talk about changing the world and making it a better place, and people get excited about it but after a while people stop caring. That view is also reflected later in "Heal the world" where Michael writes "Then why do we keep strangling life, wound this earth, crucify its soul…".

Michael Jackson talks about people coming together to make the world a better place in the song “Heal the World.” He wants people to open their hearts and connect with other people. It’s definitely an important message because the only way change can occur is if the majority comes together and makes the changes happen. In the song he says, “There are people dying. If you care enough for the living, make a better place for you and for me.” He wants the world to be joyful and “create a world with no fear.” Sometimes we only see what’s right in front of us. If more people took the time to look outside of their surroundings they would find that not only do the people around them need help but people beyond that. When he says, “see the nations turn their swords into plowshares,” he’s asking us look to other countries and share what we have with them. Healing the world involves everyone to come together.

Heal The World

A recurring message in the song is that if people cared enough, a lot of progress could be made. Emphasis is put on caring for the living. This challenges people to care for people that are still alive. Other, less important, concerns are those who are no longer alive or things that were never alive to begin with.

The song refers to humanity as one race. This indirectly throws one of the main things out there that holds the world back from becoming a better place. People get caught up in where someone was born, what color their skin is, and other petty irrelevancies. These barriers continue to keep humanity in a state of war, poverty, and oppression.

The audience is everyone. The solution begins with the individual. If each individual started to care enough then the healing called for in the song would start to happen.

Heal The World

The song “Heal The World” By Micheal Jackson is a song that has touched many people all over the world. In this song he speaks about the importance of making this world a better place because we all have to live amongst one another. He not only speaks to black kids in the United States but children from places I never even heard of. We all have a heart and we all know how to love, Micheal Jackson wants us to utilize these emotions to lend a helping hand. I think this is a song about social justice because healing the world would consist of helping the environment, educating the youth, eradicating homelessness, creating opportunities for all mankind in all nations, and uplifting each other.

In this song there is a line that says “Make A Little Space, Make A Better Place”. This means allot to me because we all have input on our environment and taking a little time to clean, plant, grow, educate, and renovate our own communities can have a great impact on the lives of the residency and people living or working around the area. All my life I have seen folks complain about things that we the community has the power to change. We cannot expect a miracle if we aren’t willing to get active and create the possibilities that can create change. This song is inspirational because it motivates individuals to want to make things better for everyone.

In conclusion, this is the type of music we need in the world because ignorance is bliss and many of our youth are dancing, rapping, and living a lifestyle that does not give positive possibilities to the human race.

The part of the song that states “ If you want to know why there’s a love that cannot lie, love is strong it only cares for joyful giving if we try we shell see in this bliss we cannot feel fear nor dread we stop and start living. As we get closer to such a tragic day as September 11 was, we cannot help but to look at our world a little closer. As I heard Michael Jackson’s song “Heal the world” I cannot help to feel sad and sorrow to our worlds situation. How the majority are still in poverty, and how blessed we are to have the things we have in the U.S, but even here poverty still exist. When Jackson says “Heal the world, male it a better place. For you, and for me, and for the entire human race. There are people dying. If you care enough for the living, make it a better place for you and me” he’s telling the world that it’s in need. That our world needs change so that humanity can thrive instead of die. People shouldn’t be dying over starvation and poverty. If we don’t do a change things will always remain the same. It’s up to us to make something happen

In the song “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson, he uses very simple yet strong diction to make his point. Jackson sings, “We stop existing and start living.” This phrase really stands out. It forces the audience to realize that they do have a say in what goes on in the world around them, but we must start “living”. Existing is being in the world, yet not standing up for morals or rights. Living is giving the world around what you have to offer, yet accepting what the world around you can and cannot offer He says, “Stop existing…Start Living,” meaning stop following and taking up space rather than leading and pursuing happiness. Another way that this could be interpreted is if you are happy with yourself, the right thing to do would be to help others achieve happiness. Jackson's point is to “Heal the world,” and using life to obtain only self-happiness can be argued as not really living or happy. Issues in the world are arising constantly, and it will take constant effort to make the world better.

The song "Heal The World" by Michael Jackson, is a song settled on bringing the world peace and closure in all of its conflicts. He states throughout the song that he wants solitude for the children so they can live a better, more prosperous life. Jackson asks the question, if we believe in happiness and unity for all, then why are we exhausting ourselves on destroying life? he also states that we can make a united successful future for all if we really stopped talking about changing things and did them. Michael is the perfect figure, using his popularity and his power to have a voice in the fight for peace. He uses his accessories to touch people in their hearts and in their minds. The major tragic ties that have recently occurred in this country such as Hurricane Katrina or 9/11 are key examples of how Michael's song writing comes in to play.

Response Heal The World
In the lyrics “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson, the message that it is trying to promote involves a better world for children who are suffering and need a safe and caring environment. It is devastating to see how our world is filled with chaos where children are left unwanted and abandoned. We as individuals should strive to make it happen and make things different for us and for children to have a brighter future. We might witness war that has caused death and poverty where kids are suffering because they don’t have enough food to eat or survive. The sorrow an individual’s kids are going through is painful and filled with fear; wondering where their parents might be and will they ever return. I wonder what will happen to those kids who are suffering. Will they grow up to be strong and overcome the obstacles they are faced with? I cannot imagine what they have and are going through as a child. Overall, this song is sad, but it has a powerful message that invokes hope in people and change for the better.

Freewrite - Heal The World Lyrics

In response to the song Heal the World by Michael Jackson it is pretty clear he is communicating to all of us that we should restore humanity and our earth. The lyrics are simple but straight to the point. In order to inform the mass majority of people it is better to present it clearly. However, I feel Michael could have been grittier in his message by giving examples of certain situations in the world we live in now. The music was too clichéd for me and the message was softened. There are unfathomable atrocities going on in the world and I would have preferred an illustration to really accept this song. There are child soldiers in Africa being forced to kill their own families, rape their own sister, or be the first in the line of fire. Mexico is still dealing with the chaos of a violent drug war as their people are being kidnapped, tortured, and murdered around the border. The Middle East still has not seen peace in years as terrorists intimidate the civilians and destroy communities with suicide bombs and outbursts of gun violence. Or what about human trafficking, child labor, oppressed nations, violence towards women, oil spills, extinction of animals, gang violence, etcetera? Where is the passion rallying against such inhumanity?
Ok, so maybe I am getting ahead of myself and am a bit too cynical. I am sure Mr. Jackson felt as I do and instead of demanding as I would have done he presented this problem gently. You can’t accept change if someone is shoving it down your throat. Despite the soft tone a few of the lyrics caught my attention. “And the dream we were/conceived in/will reveal a joyful face/and the world we/once believed in/will shine again in grace/Then why do we keep/Strangling life/Wound this Earth/Crucify its soul/Though it’s plain to see/This world is heavenly/Be God’s glow.” I believe Michael is stating that as humans we were visualized in perfect harmony and our world was never meant to be tarnished. However if we are aware of this why do we keep destroying our Earth? Why do we keep fighting each other and continue to spill blood on our soils? It is obvious that life in its entirety is beautiful. If we just observe and remember how valuable life is, we can be the prize of the Earth’s children.
Another line I appreciate is the one that imagines our nations putting down their weapons and replacing them with shared lands. “See the nations turn/their swords/into plowshares.” If we just relinquished our arms and as a country learned to be sustainable there would not be world hunger. Our money would not be put into wars or efforts to dominate other countries. Our funds would be spent wisely, rebuilding communities, and providing a better future for our children. I believe in such a peaceful existence but has the Earth ever really seen such a thing? Before humans there was constant chaos and change. So is it in our nature to be destructive? That is always up for debate but for my lifetime I am in agreement with Michael Jackson. Let us just take the time to care for one another. If we cherish our own lives than why not value the ones amongst us? Though we may be flawed, it does not change the fact that structurally we are all the same. We all think and we all feel. If we want to continue living on this planet it is best that we open our hearts and embrace one another.

It sounds to me like Michael was projecting his childhood into this song. From what I understand about Michaels past is his father was very abusive and made him grow up too fast, which might be why he emphasizes helping the children and lived a fairy tale sort of life. If you look in the second paragraph he says something about no more hurt or sorrow, so to me that says his childhood was really dark. I like his positivity and belief that the world has more potential that its not living up to. What I didn’t like is when he talks about a place where theres no need to cry,, for me that’s unrealistic. We live in a world with 7 billion people, and we’d all have to be taking the amount of valium that he was for that to happen. The world is beautiful because of its dark times. Pain builds charater, michael needed to go through what he went through just like tupac or anyone else with that experience. To me, this is more of a cry for help rather than a song about changing the world… then again he has a point, we are leaving a fat fucking mess for the generations to come, and it would be nice if we could give them a little more to work with, I just strongly disagree with a perfect world. And then again I don’t listen to Michael Jackson when looking for an answer to solving the worlds problems, I listen to Michael when im trying to boogie, so over all good job Michael :D

Michael Jackson-Heal The World
The song Heal the World by Michael Jackson was released in 1991. It was a song that supported world peace. Michael Jackson wanted to make better lives for children. He mentioned that the world is in the hands of our children. He wanted to make the world a better place by people loving one another and treating each other respectfully. healing. I know that this is supposed to be a positive and uplifting song, but I do feel that

it’s humans that are making the world so chaotic and self destructive. I do give Michael

The main message in "Heal The World" was how we can unite as a human race and create a world where love outweighs hate. The song promotes peace, love, and a sense of what's morally right for future generations. This message can be observed in the beginning when the little girl says, "I think about the generations and they say they want to make it a better place for our children and our children's children so that they know it's a better world for them ..." Michael Jackson was a humanitarian, and through this song he was able to show his love for mankind. I believe that we can all take something positive from this song and help the world become a better place.

“Heal the world” a song by Micheal, is about how to make our world a better place for the entire generation to come. In this lyric, Michael clearly stated his theory of sustainability that the world we currently living as such is uncomfortable and unhealthy for most of the human race but if we care enough to each other, love to each other we can heal or improve the world for us and for the coming generation. In short we can make our live sustainable without jeopardizing the future generation.
Micheal’s lyric also provides an optimistic insight into how great it could be if we create a peaceful world with no fear for the human race. Therefore, we might not need the swords and may change it into plowshare, though it is too optimistic.

It is up to the parents to instill as much love, peace and a since of well being. Jackson talks about healing he says,” If you want to know why there’s a place that cannot lie”. If we could create a world with no fear then we would be ok people will be happy. He said “Save it for our children” if we save it the next generation and they will make it a better place.

Heal the World

The song touches on how the world we live in is under self-destruct. The children are the future. “There’s a place in are hearts and I know that its love”, but the troubles and the sorrow we feel can be all washed away if we start helping my fellow brother. The Heal the world song is such an uplifting song for are entire human race. It brings a since of forgiveness and the wont to lend a helping hand. The part of the song that states “ If you want to know why there’s a love that cannot lie, love is strong it only cares for joyful giving if we try we shall see in this bliss we cannot feel fear nor dread we stop and start living”. What that statement said to me is if we stop and look at ourselves first for the answer we will be an existence and start living for a better world not just hoping to be in one, one day.
