1) It is possible that Leymah's memoir does not have the evidence to answer this question but it certainly sparked curiosity. What interest did the U.S. have in Liberia at the time of the civil war, and if that interest was during the cold war why the lack of interest as the cold war fizzed out?
2) What is Leymah's drive? In her memoir she tells us that her children are her motivation but her story is not consistent with that.
3) This story is not one of a hero who was born from nothing, what advantages does Leymah have that contributed to the opportunities that were presented to her? Apart from those opportunities she sought out herself.
