They Say I Say page 40-41
1. Many people strong believe in the dismantling abortion, believing that it is immoral. Many conservatives believe in pro life because everyone has the right to life. People who stand on this side of the argument argues that unborn babies are human beings from the moment of conception; and that there are scientific evidence that fetuses feel pain during the abortion procedure. Another argument people make is that allowing abortion goes against the foundation of America’s belief. The Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
There are some out there that abortion is immoral. I argue that abortion will prevent more problems from uprising then if we discontinue abortion. First, is it constitutional to deny the core freedom that a woman has over her own personal body? A woman rights to choose an abortion is a fundamental right to the Constitution. I recognize the different point of view on abortion; however, denying abortion start many butterfly effects. Many women who have unplanned pregnancy do not have the finical resources to support a child. Secondly, a child should not come to this world unwanted because Having a child is an important lifelong decision.
2. In the essay, “Don’t Blame the Eater,” the author, David Zinczenko argues that childhood obesity today is much in part due to the lack of convenient and inexpensive food choices for children.The author suggests that many children are forced to eat at unhealthy fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell because they cannot afford a healthier alternative. Although I understand where Zinczenko is coming from, I cannot say I agree with him. A good alternative is Subway, it is healthy alternative; they advertise many different healthy sandwiches and offer bags of pre-sliced apples as a side dish. Another example is that grocery stores sell pre-packaged salads, wraps, sandwiches and more which have the nutritional information right there on the package.
In the essay, “Don’t Blame the Eater,” the author, David Zinczenko, argues that children have the right to sue major fast food companies for “making them fat.” He believes that fast food companies contribute to childhood obesity because their only concern is to make money, not how unhealthy the products they are selling are. I argue that being overweight is a genuine medical problem rather than a problem of cultural stereotypes. Some studies have shown that the heritability of obesity is about the same as that of height; in other words, it is genetics. Therefore obesity is not the result of consumer culture but rather is genetically predetermined.

“They say/ I say” pg. 40-41 exercise 1-2
1.Girls should be allowed to obtain birth control without the consent of an adult. Some girls find it difficult to tell their parents that they are sexually active, and therefore, they have no way of being able to get birth control. They are embarrassed and this leads to pregnancy. If birth control was available to all girls without the consent of an adult would pregnancy rates go down? I should think so. We shouldn't be turning girls away if they need something this important.
Girls who are younger than 17 should not be allowed to receive any type of birth control without parental consent. Girls any younger should not even be having sex and should not be encouraged to do so by allowing them to receive birth control. These girls will begin to think they can have sex and won’t get pregnant, yet there is still a possibility of failure of any birth control. Instead of giving these girls birth control we should be teaching abstinence in high schools and not promoting sex through the idea of birth control for all ages.
2. In David Zinczenko's article of "Don’t Blame the Eater" he made it clear that he blames the fast food industries for the increase in children’s obesity. At one point he says, “it’s the lack of information on the labels of what we exactly are ingesting". This statement is false for numerous reasons, one being the fact all of McDonald's sold food has the calorie intake on the wrap (just like at the grocery store). In fact in his article it makes it a point to say fast food is cheaper. Any day of week i would like to show Mr. David all the grocery stores such as Wal-Mart and Kroger, where you can find affordable yet inexpensive food. Yes, you may even find your grapefruit for under a dollar.
3.David Zinczenko wrote an article called "Don’t Blame the Eater". He says that fast food restaurants are a major cause in this development of child obesity. I believe Mr. Zinczenko is right, he gave statistic of diabetes type two raising twenty-five percent since 1965. Though, David goes as far to say that it is a legitimize case for teenagers to sue these fast food joints, i am not so sure about. It would not solve any problems for the people to sue these places but to cause more problems. i believe that if we the parents would try and cooker t home a little more and have a sit down dinner, we may be able to eliminate this potential danger from our kids’ lives.

They Say/ I Say
1. We all know that having a healthy diet is essential to maintaining a healthy life. Foods that are high in protein with little fat are the best. Foods with no nutritional value must be avoided; that includes sweets and carbs. Luckily, there are healthier alternatives to these non beneficial foods. For example, whole grain bread, rice, and pasta can be used instead of the average non whole grain carbs. For those who did not grow up eating whole grains, it will take a while to become accustomed to them. But once you do, you will never go back to non whole grains. Your overall health will greatly improve.
Lately, I have found that many people have been wanting to live a healthier lifestyle by eating healthier. As I admire their decisions to do so, I find it ridiculous when some get so strict with their diets that they become picky with their food. For example, my brother and I once attended a wedding dinner. The plates of food that came out were all too “unhealthy” for him, so he did not eat. I could not believe that he starved himself rather than just eating a little bit. There is nothing wrong with indulging in something “unhealthy” every now and then. I personally do not care about whether the food I am eating is healthy or not. If it tastes good, I am happy with it. And if it tastes good and also good for me, it is an added bonus.
2. In David Zinczenko’s Don’t Blame the Eater, he argues that it is not the consumer’s fault that fast food causes them to be overweight. Fast food chains may label the number of calories in their food correctly, but not clearly. A simple salad can easily be over 1000 calories. Although there are alternatives to fast food, they are more than the double the cost. The best alternative is to cook at home. Cooking at home can be fast and inexpensive if one knows how to be efficient. Shows like “30 Minute Meals” and “Ten Dollar Dinners” and “Sandra’s Money Saving Meals” on Food Network prove it. Cooking one’s own meal is also makes it less likely for one to become overweight. One knows what is going into his food when he prepares it himself.
In David Zinczenko’s Don’t Blame the Eater, he states that fast food companies make it hard for consumers to know how much calories they are consuming. As a result, more and more children as obtaining type 2 diabetes due to being overweight or obese. Being overweight is a serious problem in America. It is not only unattractive, but it may also lead to more serious health problems, such as heart problems, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer, liver disease, and much more.

Are Social Networking Sites Good For our Society?
Social Networking has been around for so long know, users are increasing ever since. They use social networking for communicating with friends; even strangers, sharing thoughts, photos, etc.. but most importantly they use these as resources to find news, have access to educational materials and supports, and to facilitate to information rapidly. Internet overall is a very helpful resource for students especially because they have access to learn more and access to unavailable educational resources, and even study shows that the students who use Social Media do better at school because they have other people to communicate with and discuss assignments. Another great example is when businesses are looking for employers, they rely on Social Media and it's a great easy way to find possible employees. Even musicians who have no professional contract and seeking one, this is a great way to start and build their audiences. The list of pro's is extensive, I believe Social Media is a vast help for everyone and at the same time we can entertain ourselves.
Although Social Networking has been around for so long and is very popular now, people should not entirely rely on them, especially to find information, Social media enables the spread of unreliable and false information. Not everything we find on the Internet is entirely real, we waste our time when we can simply pick up a newspaper with legit information. Lets not forget that Social Media has a lack of privacy, there is some one always behind what we are doing on the web and our information has exposure to intrusions. When thinking about educational purposes on the use of the Internet, students who rely a lot on the Internet tend to do poorly in school. What about our health, Social Networking can lead to stress and lack of being social in the outside world. Kids tend to have behavioral issues when spending too much time on the Internet. Keeping a good balance between Social Networking and being actually physically social and using physical resources like newspaper, books, and dictionaries can help us decrease the points I stated above. I believe we can still gather information with other options.

Easy Alternatives
According to Don't Blame the Eater by David Zinczenko, fast-food restaurants are responsible for the most, diabetic and obsessed population, due to their non-labeling of calories and non-readable labels if they do provide you with one. Zinczenko mainly focuses on people who have no other choice due their lack of money, he states how it's easier to find a fast-food place rather than a place that sales grapefruit. But one should be able to find alternatives that can not necessarily be more expensive but more healthy. Fast-food restaurants often have the option of salads, it's your decision what you eat but one can decide to keep the dressing away. Some options can be shopping at the nearest market and buying the fresh stuff. Planing ahead can be a great way to avoid last minute things when one is hungry. We should all be able to identify what is best for our health inside and outside.
Medical Problem vs Cultural Stereotype
Being overweight can be viewed as a cultural stereotype, when in truth is a genuine medical problem. David Zinczenkos' Don't Blame the Eater, may seem to refer to overweight people as a fast-food restaurant fault, we cannot blame others for what we do to ourselves and our choices. This is a serious medical problem for many, when they do not have the capacity to make right choices or even care to do so and have given up. The stereotypes are there just to haunt these people with serious problems that need medical interventions.

Pg. 40 Exercise 1:
The importance of education is known to many people. In these modern times, people believe going to college prepares people for the real world and gives them more chances of having a better income. These people believe then that those who go to college are more hard-working and even smarter than those who didn’t go to college. Those with a degree believe that they are at times better than others.
However, many people don’t look at the other side of things. Yes it is true that people who go to college can make way more money than people who don’t attend, but these people also work hard. They take on hard jobs like cleaning and construction. On one hand, people who go to college can fully extend their knowledge. On the other hand, people who don’t attend are also smart but maybe had many responsibilities that led them to not be able to attend college.
Pg. 41 Exercise 2:
In the article “Don’t Blame the Eater,” by David Zinczenko, the author claims that many people are obese yet that is not their faults. The author insists that there are not many choices of healthy alternatives for fast-food restaurants so then people go on to places like MacDonald’s or PizzaHut. To the contrary, I believe that there are plenty of alternatives for fast-food restaurants and these include making a home cooked meal. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something big, but it can be as easy as a sandwich or quesadillas with a healthy side of fruits and veggies.
In the article “Don’t Blame the Eater,” by David Zinczenko, the author suggests that people who are overweight due to eating at fast-food restaurants should not receive the blame. He argues that even though these people do eat a lot of it, it is not their fault since there are not that many options for them. I can relate to what he is reporting, but at the same time, I believe that maybe it is not just eating all that food that makes people gain weight, but instead the problem is in these individuals own medical problems.

Exercise #1:
The NBA has decided to put an age limit on the USA Men’s basketball roster. I feel that I need to complain about this because we do not need an age limit. In the past couple of years the best players in the NBA were young and up and coming stars. Now they are a couple years older and over the age cap that they put on the team. That is not fair for them because they will not get to compete for a gold medal. The two goals that every basketball player has is to win a NBA Championship and to win a Olympics gold medal. There is no kind of experience like travelling with a group of guys and becoming brothers. I question the hunger for the commissioner of the NBA to want to bring back a gold medal to the US.
The NBA has decided to put an age limit on the USA Men’s basketball roster. I do not deny the fact that we need to get younger players more involved in the Olympics. Why have the same players go every four years and win every time, that is not fair for the younger players trying to make a name for themselves in the NBA. I support this decision 100% because playing in the Olympics will give young players experience that they can now bring back to their basketball teams. Who knows the young players might travel and bring back a gold medal, but we will never find this out if we do not give them the chance. In closing, let the young players play ball.

In the article by David Zinczenco called Don’t Blame the Eater, he states that we cannot blame the corporate business’ for overweight problems we have in America today. I agree with him because nobody is forcing the overweight people to eat fast food they decide to eat it themselves. They decide that they want to go get a burger instead of getting a salad; they want French fries instead of carrot sticks. There are so many possibilities that we as overweight eaters have options of eating. We can easily go to the Subway instead of McDonalds, but no we choose the one which is higher in sodium, fat, and calories and all of these ingredients lead to obesity. We as a human race cannot blame the fast food business for what we can easily change.
In the article by David Zinczenko called Don’t Blame the Eater, he states that we cannot blame the corporate business for obesity in America. I totally disagree with his statement because as kids we are accustomed to watching television and seeing the fast food commercials; as we sit there and watch the screen we see the toys that we can get. So we bug our parents to take us to that food chain so we can get that toy. As kids we still do not know what we prefer so as we eat this fast food we get addicted and next thing we know were overweight. So we can blame the business for getting kids to eat their food so they can get the toy, and that is not fair to the kid who does not know what they are getting themselves into. So in closing I want to say that it is the business fault for obesity in America today.

Art of Summarizing
1. In Nancy Kalish’s “The Early Bird Gets the Bad Grade”, she suggests that school schedules should be revised by extending the dismissal time allowing for a later start time due to the fact that teenagers can’t function properly early in the morning. Explicitly, Kalish insists that teenagers who wake up early are exhausted when they arrive at school causing accidents, mental disorder, and obesity. In other words, Kalish states, “Some are so sleepy they don’t even show up, contributing to failure and dropout rates.” Despite the fact others believe that teenagers need early starts to be more productive in school, Kalish verify that late starts raise test scores when teens are allowed more time to let the learning sink in and process. In sum, then, her view is that people should support later starts and longer days because it will have a positive impact on the school and the student.
I disagree. In my view, having longer days to compensate a late start would exhaust a student to the point that they can’t even do homework when they get home. For instance, when parents get home all they want to do is take a nap. In addition, teens generally don’t want to go to school and having to stay there long would increase the tendency to skip class or lose interest in paying attention. Some might object, of course, because if teens are well rested they have energy that would last days. However I would argue that only few teens have that much energy, for example athletes but most students can’t even throw a football properly. Overall, I believe that waking up later wastes the time in the morning that can be used productively and more important longer days cause students to be uninterested in school and no time for homework.

I agree. In my view, waking up later would keep students from falling asleep in class which is a very frequent phenomenon. For instance, while in class when the teacher is lecturing I can see out of the corner of my eye that my class mate is dosing off again. In addition, teens would feel more rested and alert for class discussion instead of looking blurry eyed not able to respond to any of the teacher’s questions. Some might object, of course, because it could possibly mean longer school days. However I would argue that longer school days allow for in-depth learning and the teacher can focus on the material, not the test scores. Overall, I believe that starting late would be a great improvement to the school system—more important the longer days would leave extra time at school for homework so that teens wouldn't have any when they get home.
2. In “Don’t Blame the Eater” by David Zinczenko, he observes that with busy parent children are unable to find inexpensive and convenient alternatives to fast food. Zinczenko argues that fast food restaurants are everywhere, one on every block yet there isn’t a grocery store in site. As Zinczenko stated,”Drive down any thoroughfare in America, and I guarantee you’ll see one of our country’s more than 13,000 McDonald’s restaurants. Now, drive back up the block and try to find someplace to buy a grapefruit.” Other knows that it is plenty easy to obtain a decent meal in America; Zinczenko claims that fast food is the only option for adolescents with busy parents. All in all, his belief was that since good meals weren’t easily found people resort to eat unhealthy food since it is everywhere.
I do not deny that fast food restaurant are everywhere, however it does not mean that acceptable food can’t not be found. In my view, it should be simple to ask parent to go grocery shopping. It not only is inexpensive but it is convenient when instead of finding a place to eat far away, instead go to the fridge. In addition, it saves time and money that can be spent on other things. Some might object by bring up the fact that small snacks, say a grapefruit, aren’t meals. Yet I argue that one simply has to learn to cook. Overall, I believe that there are healthy lifestyles of eating that are inexpensive and covenant.
In “Don’t Blame the Eater” by David Zinczenko, he states that obesity is no longer a medical issue but a cultural norm. He observes that fast food restaurants are adding to the number of overweight children in America. Zinczenko warned, “Before 1944, diabetes in children was generally caused by a genetic disorder—only about 5 percent of childhood cases were obesity related. Today, according to the National Institutes of Health, Type 2 diabetes accounts for at least 30 percent . . .” Some may say that with it’s still a genetic issue but now people are more aware, Zinczenko questions as to whether it is no longer just genetics but that it has to do with the we are feeding children in America. All in all, his recommendation was that parents should stay at home to feed their children decent meals to avoid this medical catastrophe.
I believe obesity and diabetes has increased due to the fact of a cultural shift these past decades. In my view, the way food is produce is no longer adequate to provide a health diet. The amount that Americas eat is astonishing; unfortunately unlike other countries Americans did not stop the growing hunger of the population. In addition, the food system encourages overeating food especially carbohydrates and sugars. Some may disagree that it is Americans choice of what they eat and buy to feed to their children. Yet I argue that without labels to notify people of what they are actually eating they can’t make healthy food choices. Overall, I would argue that it is not genetics to blame for obesity but for the corrupted food distributors that don’t care for Americans as long as they keep eating.

They Say P. 50 Exercises 1,2
1) In the article from IGN.com, "BioWare Talks Next Mass Effect on Twitter", the writer introduced his quotation into his text after giving a brief introduction or background before the quotation. The author first consider his audience and what they have said on the twitter account and counter argues with a quote from the game developer themselves. Based upon reading this chapter and reading the article, the author did a great job of using quotations to get the job done correctly. I don't think there is anything else the author could have changed due to his subject matter.
2) In one of my essays I've written, I have personally quoted sources from either websites or articles. I have introduced the topic and gave a little bit of background anecdote so that the audience can follow before supporting it with actual quote. That was how I introduced the quote. The quotation was related to my text because it stayed on the subject of which i was suppose to talk about. It was about vegetarianism and I quoted from books and websites that gives different opinions on that specific subject.

1. There are many unknown entity that we are all unsure of. For instance, when we think we see something in the corner of ours eyes and we turn to look, but that thing just disappears. Some say it's a ghost or evil beings that have not crossed over yet. However, because it is unquantifiable, perhaps it was just our brains playing tricks on ourselves.
2. David Zinczenbo's wrote, "Don't Blame the Eater" in which he made an observations on the unhealthy effects of fast food. He himself have put on lots of pounds eating fast food because of the life style he lived. On the other had, there are many other fast food places that serve healthy alternative. For example, people can choose Subway or Quiznos for their meals.
In a controversial essay written by David Zinczenko, " Don't Blame the Eater", the author compared unhealthy eating happens with fast food joint. The author claims that fast food had made him put on lots of pounds which causes him to be unhealthy even though he was brought up eating them. Because these are just claims and not based upon facts, it may not be a true medical problem but just a social cliche.

The Art of Summarizing Exercises
1) Fast food chains around the world have a job to satisfy their and their costumer’s needs no matter the resulting side effects. By selling cheap yet satisfying foods, the seller earns a great amount of profit due to the excessive buy of the consumer. In fact, this corporate system of only focusing on taste buds is not the best way to run fast food chains due to these corporations denying the long term effects of the food they sell.
Even though fast food chains advocate consumers to buy their foods, there is nothing wrong with questioning how it may affect you. If a consumer would want to change their eating style, encouraging yourself to eat more healthy foods is not a bad thing. Many consumers should try to balance a diet that will satisfy a craving and also have healthy outcomes.
2) Summary 1:
In David Zinczenko’s “Don’t Blame the Eater” from They Say / I Say The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, Zinczenko argues that fast food restaurants are guaranteed on most of the thoroughfares in America and specifically there are 13,000 or more McDonald’s in the country that it is almost impossible for children to not eat fast food. In refute, it is possible for children to detour to other healthier and inexpensive restaurants. It is highly likely that there would be alternative restaurants wherever there is a fast food one. Many small business restaurants or even coffee shops can be one of those alternative places. The only solution for students to avoid unhealthy restaurants is to explore and encourage them to eat different healthy foods.

1. Abortion is the same thing as murder. Even though many people don't consider abortion as killing a baby because of the fact that it can still be an egg when they do it, it is still killing a precious thing that could have been a life. I am against abortion because of the simple fact that abortion is the same thing as killing someone. I believe that if someone chose to make a decision in their life then they should take in the consequences that come along with it. There are other alternatives like adoption for example. I personally love babies and regardless of the situation I would be in, if I ever got pregnant, abortion would never cross my mind.
Abortion is one of the most chosen alternatives for young pregnant women who aren't ready to have a baby. Even though there are other types of alternatives, a lot of young teens chose to get an abortion when the baby is barely going to develop because of the fact that they made a mistake and they rather not be reminded of that mistake throughout there whole pregnancy or life. A lot of women that get abortions are ones who has got raped. Abortion is not murder. Abortion is a simple solution of saving a fetus from living in a bad environment and saving a woman who has been raped from even more depression.
2. A lot of people agree with the statement that fast food is way cheaper than healthy food. But they're wrong. There are a lot of alternatives to fast food that are not expensive. I've personally gone to several places myself where I have ate a healthy meal without spending a whole lot of money. All you have to do is research places and investigate where you can small restaurants or deli's with food that will be healthy for you.
Being over weight is a genuine medical problem. As much as the media may criticize people who are overweight, it is actually a serious problem that shouldn't be found as something funny or disgusting. It should be looked at in the perspective were that certain individual needs help and to help them find a solution to better themselves and their lives.

“Believing Game”
Dilettantes proclaim that Mrs. Rosa Parks’s historical bus stand in 1955 was all part of an elaborate scheme - a planned event. Not only is it believed that Parks acted with, and by the instruction of an activist group within Montgomery’s black community, moreover it has been speculated that there were outside Communist influences that drove this master plan as well. This sort of criticism easily translates as a feasible scenario, especially given the lack of historical content beyond the popularized short version of events that catapulted the famous boycott (which further blurs the former). Cynicism today and reluctance to give just consideration in the past produced varying accounts.

Curiosity never urged me to look any further at Rosa Parks’s life story. The glorified storyline that was embedded at an early age rested securely in my mind as symbolism of freedom and bravery needing no additional explanations. However, political professor and author Jeanne Theoharis, has disrupted my dormant Parks image with, “The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks.” I am excited to reveal to friends and family all my new discoveries about Rosa Parks, but surprised when discussions lead to contradicting reasoning. One emerging claim is that Rosa Parks did not act alone on that historic day when she would not give up her seat. While I concede that what occurred that day was not a solitary act, I mean that in a metaphorical sense.

There is a call for assistance when it comes to dealing with cancer and all the complications it comes along with. Is it fair to reject someones cry for help in ways that are unmoral? There is a new law act called Assistant Suicide for cancer patients who insist on a immediate death. Assistant Suicide emphasizes on only patients with qualifying diseases, so its not going against a unmoral action of suicide its self. It provides a faster death for people who are suffering with their diseases and going through too much pain.
When it comes to pain and suffering there is a high demand for assistance. Assistance for a self inflicted suicide that is. This is for people with all types of diseases and cancer who insist on perusing death early or immediately. People view this as unmoral, but society should not deny a persons death wish. Doctors have to verify for qualifying patients for assistant suicide. I endorse this act only on people whop are going through painful times with there health.

They Say I Say “The Believing Game”

Many people say that drinking cold beverages and foods while you are sick can increase the amount of time you are sick. Studies show that cold beverages and foods can cause white blood cells to slow down and therefore take longer to kill off viruses and other harmful bacteria. Although foods like ice cream taste good while you are sick, it is only a temporary feeling. Cold foods and beverages can actually worsen your current condition. According to many singers, they don’t suggest eating or drinking cold things while being sick because it can actually take them longer to recover
Many people say that drinking and eating cold things can increase the amount of time you are sick. However, this is a false statement. Eating and drinking cold things have no effect on the amount of time you are sick. For example, hospitals serve ice cream to patients not only because it tastes good but because it eases the pain. If cold foods can cause your white blood cells to slow down the process of killing off viruses then why would doctors suggest patients to eat ice cream? Therefore, eating and drinking cold things does not affect the amount of time you are sick.
2. In David Zinczenko's essay, "Don't Blame the Eater," he argues that fast food restaurants are the reason the percentage of childhood obesity has sufficiently increased. He claims that there aren't many convenient and inexpensive choices therefore children are have no choice but to eat McDonalds or Burger King. Although I agree that it is hard to find healthier alternatives, many teenagers choose to eat fast foods rather than to eat healthy foods. If teenagers were really worried about their weight and health problems then they would try to find alternatives. Alternatives like being foods in bulk size and splitting it into multiple meals. That way they can eat healthier and save money.
The author, David Zinczenko argues in his essay, "Don't Blame the Eater" that it is acceptable to sue fast food companies for causing them to gain excessive weight. I believe that obesity is a genuine medical problem rather than a problem of cultural stereotypes. Because obesity can cause serious health problems, people of all ages should be more aware of what they eat. Although society looks down on those who are not the "perfect" size, obesity is serious. People should live a healthier lifestyle, not for society but for themselves.

1. Social networks are the best invention of all time. They keep you connected with people who you haven’t seen or spoken to in years. Some people actually find their soul mates and or meet new friends by these social networks. You also get to take picture and post them up and share it to the whole world to see. You can also let everyone know what you are up to or how your day is going.
2. Social networks they are time consuming and take up most of your time especially if you’re a college student. It is open to the public so everyone sees what you are doing. It takes away your privacy if you let it. Some people can’t live without social networks so they become addicted to it. Also some people meet up with creeps and strangers from social networks to go on dates and they end up being raped or killed. Pictures can be deceiving at times. There are many fake profiles online and some people fall for their tricks.

Believing Game Summaries:
Animals or Experiments?
1a. Animal testing benefits researchers and scientist in finding treatments and medicines to cure diseases and improve health in humans. Numerous medicinal treatments have been accomplished, due to animal testing, for diseases such as cancer, HIV &AIDs, etc. Animal testing also provides guaranteed safety for human use of drugs, medicines and other products.
1b. When animal testing, incalculable animals are used as experimental subjects and killed after they are used. These animals endure painful test that if known my the entire public would be disapproved of and seem as immoral. Countless innocent animals due in vain because test proved no benefit to human health. Animal testing has been said to be inaccurate because animals rarely make excellent models for the human body. Scientists try to infect them with diseases they would never contract, it is mostly done out of curiosity.
2a. In his article "Don't Blame the Eater," David Zinczenko emphasizes that fast-food restaurant industries are continuously increasing today's widespread obesity because they do not specify sufficient calorie counts in their food and also accommodate for meals that low income working parents are unable to provide. Zinczenko insists that children are influenced to eat low-cost, high-calorie foods due to the lack of parental supervision and control of their diet. On the other hand, I have no doubt that there are tons of healthier and inexpensive ways for children to eat. If parents make the effort to wake up slightly earlier and prepare a healthy breakfast and pack a healthy lunch, like sandwiches, water and fruit, they can avoid options such as fast
food and school lunch. Small changes like these will provide children with meals that are preferable variety, more desirable for good health and exceptional taste.
2b. In his article "Don't Blame the Eater," David Zinczenko suggests that being overweight and diabetic was a genetic problem that became more of a medical problem. Some people may feel that being overweight and obese is a cultural stereotype, especially in America where there are more fast-food restaurants than healthy super markets or grocery stores. However, I do believe that being overweight is a genetic problem because there are individuals that constantly consume fast-food and fail to put on weight. Although I agree it is a genetic problem, it also tired into society and the stereotypes and it can be changed if people who suffer from obesity want to change. We do not have to obtain the majority of our meals from fast-food industries, by cutting down or cutting it from our diets completely we can decrease maybe eventually reverse the obesity epidemic. Zinczenko may believe that people are not to blame but if someone is determined they can lose the weight and live a healthier life.
